During an appearance on Wednesday’s broadcast of NewsmaxTV’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) followed up on her oped headlined “The Republican Party Has Failed America, And Here’s How It Needs To Change Now,” which was published on The Federalist website earlier this month.
Noem told host Greg Kelly the GOP had not followed up on its promises on repealing ObamaCare and immigration.“Leadership has consequences, and we saw a Democratic leadership play out in our cities in our country in 2020 — violence, mobs, rioting, looting, lack of enforcement of laws,” she said. “That’s Democrat leadership on display. In that Federalist piece, I talked extensively about Republicans, what we haven’t followed through on and what we need to do in the future. We said we would reform health care, repeal ObamaCare. We have not done that. We said we would deal with immigration. We have not done that. There’s a lot of different promises that we’ve made to the American people that we just have not had the fortitude to pursue and actually get into place and impact their lives.”
“So, the Republican Party has a self-evaluation they need to go through,” Noem added. “And we really need to focus on making sure we’re doing what we say. I’ve always watched every single president, and I’ve watched their actions of what they’ve actually put into place with policies. We as Republicans need to make sure we follow-through with everything we say we stand for as well.”

Not ready for prime time. They’ll eat her up. Same if she’s the VP.
Here’s one person in the GOP who gets it.
GOP must be jettisoned for a real Second party.
Yep, Mitch should have thrown McCain out of the party for voting this down. And the GOP house members should have voted out that loser from Wisconsin. This is the difference between the GOP and the Dems. Dem voters want socialism and the Dems give it to them. GOP voters want conservatism and capitalism and the GOP does the opposite.
Trump tried but Congress is the ones who need to fix this and they refuse for the simple reason it’s a talking point for each election cycle.
If you think about it, if Congress actually fixed everything, which they actually could minus a few things that pop up unexpectedly each year, there would be no need for Congress in a full time capacity, which threatens their existence.
For Congress to exist, they create problems and then offer to fix them every election cycle.
I know lots of people who are middle of the road types who would embrace the GOP if they had only fixed healthcare. Or even made an attempt. The GOP promised they had a plan, and when the time to deliver came, they soiled themselves.
By “dealing with immigration,” does she mean completing the wall and enforcing existing law, or reaching across the aisle for immigration “reform?” I hope it’s the former but dear it’s the latter....
How do you deal with immigration? We have too much immigration legal and otherwise...
Agree. This is really ‘situation normal’ for the GOP. Its a party of weakness, failure and deceit. Its who they are.
Hard to say what she means by it. We have to fix immigration by restricting it massively and ENDING illegal immigration once and for all. This will result in wage increases for Americans and stop the Lefts desire to replace us with obedient foreigners.
Obamacare has been good for many people—bankruptcies due to high medical bills (once the #1 reason for bk) are way down.
Sadly, I think you are right. I was actually thinking similar the other day.
She’s somewhat of a newcomer and she is gaining much popularity because she is simply saying what Americans want to hear. Don’t get me wrong as I think she’s genuine, plus she’s a real cutie.
But does she have the internal fortitude and cunning intellect Trump has? Can she stand alone, all by herself and fight off fraudulent charges, one right after another without any support from her own party the way Trump did? Can she withstand attack after attack, 24/7 from the MSM’s lies?
Just ask Sarah.
‘Republican Party Has a Self-Evaluation They Need to Go Through’
They will as soon as the democrooks tell them what to do. Republicans as a whole have a problem doing the right thing.
Who ever is ready for prime time?
DJT.
There's no way to "fix" health care without making people pay more of the REAL cost of their health care directly. That's the last thing most Americans want to hear.
Health care will be a disaster as long as we let people live their lives with this delusional idea that they have this God-given right to pass the costs of their health care onto others.
Run MAGA candidates in BOTH Dem and Pubbie primaries.
It’s the best way to do this.
