Republican Senator for Florida Marco Rubio on Sunday declined to speculate on rumors that former US president Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, may challenge him for his seat in 2022, saying only that anyone seeking to take his position in the Senate will face a “tough race.”
Speaking to Fox News, Rubio also said that trying the former president in the Senate would be counterproductive and like “pouring gasoline on the fire.”
Ivanka Trump, a former senior adviser to the president, is said to be considering a run for office and rumors were given a further boost after she and her husband, Jared Kushner, recently purchased a multi-million dollar property in Miami.
Asked how he felt about a primary challenge from Trump, Rubio responded, “Well, I don’t really get into the parlor games of Washington.”
Rubio went on, “When you decide to run for reelection in a state like Florida, you have to be prepared for a competitive race, you run it like a competitive race, so that’s what I’m preparing to run, a very competitive race against a tough opponent.
“I don’t own the Senate seat, it doesn’t belong to me. If I want to be back in the US Senate I have to earn that every six years.

After today’s statement by Foam Boy regarding President Trump I reached out to my family and friends, all of whom are Trumplican’s and if the nearly 100 Floridians I reached out to tonight are representative, Foam Boy speaks too soon. Every single one I reached out to are fuming over this statement regarding President Trump by Rubio.
And, just to seal the deal, some of my close friends are from the Cuban community in the greater Miami area and they are NOT HAPPY at all with Rubio. And, from my input from them, NOT HAPPY is an UNDERSTATEMENT.
I will not vote for Rubio OR Scott again. Both were nowhere to be found when we needed them most.

Against Rubio?
75 million people voted for Trump. They want him to continue in the presidency. They waited for the GOP to defend us in this steal and they did nothing
Rubio will get creamed worse than Biden did. The Dems won’t be able to help him.

A Trump Verses Rubio??? Bwaaaaa! He’ll crushed even smaller. The old man lived in Florida. Who would Rubio call to campaign for him? Mitch McConnell? Mitt Romney?
Ivanka usually projects a professional and mature public image. She is very experienced at public speaking, often under stressful conditions. If she is her father’s daughter, she has the ability to be tough here and there.
I won’t quite say it is her destiny, but I will say she is worthy of consideration.
I hate politics. Government is just an institution that serves a purpose at a basic level yet has far exceeded its usefulness.
Her dad was a registered Democrat for most of his life.

As liberal as Ivanka may be, I would vote for her over that vomit-inducing piece of excrement rubio “in a New York minute”.
