The Supreme Court on Monday threw out two lawsuits accusing Donald Trump of violating the emoluments clause and profiting off of his presidency by maintaining ownership of his business empire while president.

The highest U.S. court formally dismissed the lawsuits just five days after Trump left office, deeming them moot since the business mogul and television personality is no longer seated in the Oval Office.

One of the entities most often brought into question was Trump's hotel near the White House...

One of the suits was filed by the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland and the other by plaintiffs, including a watchdog group and hotels and restaurants....

So scrotus is saying hes not president.

Therefore the senate “trial” is unconstitutional, cant try private individuals.

There ya go.

They go ahead with this “trial” and it ends up in front of the court, they now know the result.

Roberts could not preside over that trial for that reason. He knows he stabbed the American people in the back when he prevented the TX case from being presented in the court. Now he wants to try and make up for it.

Problem is, TX and other states have had enough and will move forward with the divorce.

I'm sure he didn't force anyone to go to his hotel. If they chose to go there, that was their business.

It's highly doubtful that anyone said since I chose to go to your hotel to sleep or eat you are now beholden to me.

I'm extremely highly doubtful that their staying at his preexisting hotel had anything at all to do with his Presidency. They likely stayed there, or ate there, because it was by far the best hotel around.

Also, if any official business was done there, it's likely because it is the best place around, which it is likely the habit to choose the best.

When the WH was closed for renivation, if President Trump stayed there, and therefore conducted some business there, that was incidental. As it may have been his temporary home.

I did hear that if rooms were rented for secret service it was at cost.

The Supreme Court should have heard the case, if they didn't deem it frivolous, which it actually was. Whether he is President at this time, he was when the presumed crime took place. If it had been criminal, it should be called out as such, even for future precedent, and in the interest of justice.

The SC doesn't like to do its job. It just makes up phony, baloney reasons to stay neatly out of things. Chickens.

The secret is now out in the open. Free shots at President Trump are no longer under the same rules as they were last week. Now leftist morons can get sued for accusing him of crimes and other BS. I hope they do and it hurts them bad.

Why couldn’t the Court explain to libtards what “Emoluments” are and just smack them in the face with a glove?

Got done watching an interview with a well known former mobster last month or so.

In that interview, he basically said the the biggest organized crime syndicate ever in the history of the world is now the Government.
They got the tools, they learned the methods and have set it up over years and perfected it.
Said that the government is doing things they never dreamed about doing.

Problem is, TX and other states have had enough and will move forward with the divorce.

Texas and Florida and red states following them will ***ch and complain. But what will Joe Biden do? He's occupying Washington, D.C. with troops, who cares? That's a liberal city.

Joe Biden would have to do something outrageous and so far we haven't seen that yet.
