Democrats are obsessed with former President Donald Trump, even after their candidate, President Joe Biden, was elected as the 46th President of the United States.
They have impeached him but as the impeachment trial approaches it appears that not enough Republicans will join Democrats in convicting him, which means in 2024 he could again campaign for the presidency.
That is why some Democrats are talking about a contingency plan to rig it so that he can never become president again by using a provision in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, CBS News reported.
Section 3 of the Amendment states::
“No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”
How does this affect Trump?
The disqualification provision, scholars say, was meant to keep former Confederate officers and officials from holding public office again unless they received permission from Congress to do so. It has seldom been invoked over the last 150 years, and never against a president.

Talk about saying a falsity over and over again and it becomes true....this is NOT a trial. If a judge doesn’t preside over the trial (no, Leahy does not count), its not a trial!
Why are they so concerned with Trump running again? He’d have to commit to being 82 years old in the White House. There’s no way any 82-year-old is fit to be president.
Due process to s required. He is entitled to his day in court including Appeals and SCOTUS. Anything less is illegal and a violation of his civil rights.
This makes perfect sense. The hours-long ‘storming’ of the Capitol is pretty much the same as the four-year long Civil War that resulted in over 600,000 deaths and the destruction of billions of dollars of property.
The fact that people who believe this can get elected to any office says a lot about their constituents.
Then Commie-la and many other Congress rats will need to go after aiding antifa and BLM arrestees throughout last year.
And by continuing to have DC “occupied” until after this show trial, they have probably already determined that Trump will be “convicted” (of what and how, who knows). And with this “conviction”, they hope that we get angry and demonstrate. Should we demonstrate? Asking for a friend...

Those are just minor bumps in road to the libs — easy to drive around and ignore.
So this amendment would also apply to Pelosi, Kamala, Maxine, et al., given the fact that they were encouraging riots and providing bail for the low-life, anti-government thugs this summer.
They all think they have some God given RIGHT to reinvent America.
Where is that written? Where is it written that I have to make a gift of myself to their pathology????
You forgot to ad the voting machines.
My suggestion, if the conviction were to occur:
Texas, the one state that by law can secede, should secede. The TX Lt. Governor, Dan Patrick, resigns. Gov. Abbott appoints Donald Trump Lt. Governor. Gov. Abbott then resigns, making Trump the Governor of The Republic of Texas. Other states, one by one, decide to join the Republic, effectively divorcing the left from the right. The remaining states, who see the seceding states as useless appendages on their True Country, will be unwilling to send troops into the seceding states as they did 160 years ago.
