Probably told McConnell to make sure that, when Schumer says a bill has to pass cloture, it passes, or else he’ll get rid of the filibuster.
First, this report is from Rooters. Second, my understanding is that it takes 60 votes to bring up the motion to change the Filibuster, because it is a Standing Rule. It may shake out that Mitch got the better deal and Schumer got to get on with the Senate business. Mitch doesn’t care how the propaganda about the deal plays out.
Of course AND half the people on this site are STILL saying the Republican Party is the ONLY WAY, they still have the battered wife syndrome JEEZE!!!

What they would do is raise a parliamentary objection to the filibuster rule and then the chair would rule against them, then have a majority vote to overrule the chair. But with Dem Senators confirming they would not vote for that, that would not happen.

Not true. IF you guarantee that democrats won’t win a single seat from your plan then bring it on. 1992 was a disaster which you seem to forget. Georgia having a trump supporter, a republican and a Democrat turned out to be a disaster. So guarantee we won’t lose one seat and all of us are on board.
