Thanks for posting this. Note the parallel to our contemporary socio-political environment. 6 minutes (the context being the foot-dragging to prosecuting Philby's web of spies) Buckley asks:

I have heard it said that here in England there is this great establishmentarian loyalty and that so long as one is a member of your ruling class it is quite difficult to get into trouble. Did you think that it made a difference that Mr. Philby went to Cambridge and had (an elite) education and so on?"
