Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., on Sunday called the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump “stupid” and “counterproductive”.

In an interview on “Fox News Sunday,” Rubio said “we already having a flaming fire in this country, and it’s like take a bunch of gasoline and pouring it on top of the fire.”

“First of all, I think the trial is stupid. It’s counterproductive," Rubio declared.

"Second, I look back at a time, for example, Richard Nixon, who had clearly committed crimes and wrongdoing, and in hindsight I think we would all agree that President Ford’s pardon was important for the country to be able to move forward,” he added. “And history held Richard Nixon quite accountable for what he did as a result."

Rubio said Trump does bear “responsibility for some of what happened.”

“It was most certainly a foreseeable consequence of everything that was going on," Rubio said. "All I'm arguing is we have some really important things to work on. ... We're gonna jump right back into what we've been going through for the last five years, and stirring it up again with a trial, and it's just going to be bad for the country."

“It’s just going to continue to fuel the divisions in this country,” where already “people hate each other,” he said.

Rubio also brushed aside rumors that former White House adviser Ivanka Trump is is considering a primary challenge for the Senate seat.

Great choice of words, Mario.

The Democrat Party wants this “trial” so as to make America forget how the election was stolen by them.

That’s pretty much what they have in mind.

Never fear, Dominion will take care of all those details.

Micro Rubio doesn’t want it to get in the way of the amnesty.

Well Senator Rubio - that IS what democrats are trying to do - they’re trying to get a violent reaction so their can put their boots on our faces.... It’s NOT a mistake on their part - it’s their plan.

Trump encouraged the people to exercise their Constitutional rights under the First Amendment. So definitely he must be held accountable for that. The Swamp rules and Rubio is part of it.

Rubio said Trump does bear “responsibility for some of what happened.”

This guy has always been a POS. I have never heard one of these so called republicans mention that the massive, obvious, cheating in the election was responsible for any of the violence. In a sane world, that in it's self is justification for this government to fall.

Well OK Then!

Now I’m watching for the PedoDementoCorruptoCrat to issue a Pardon
for President Trump, any day now...

(And no, that would likely NOT be a good thing.)

He has nothing to fear from Ivanka. She is a liberal and sounds like an Ivy League pinhead. She can’t hold her father’s working class support.

The Obama/Biden administration STILL needs to be held accountable for the crimes related to Russiagate.

Peculiar how our GOP isn’t and hasn’t demanded that or even discuss it?

Not really since they were in on Russiagate and the election fraud.

But, yeah, lets keep voting for the RINOs so we can have pretend majorities now and then and here and there.

If we’ve learned anything at all from this election, it’s that our RINOs are every bit as guilty as the communist Democrats and voting for them simply because they have “R” has not only ridiculously stupid, but insanity.

That kind of so-called “strategy” has destroyed this nation potentially beyond the point of no return.

So, where the hell was Rubio and the rest of his craven coward buddies when he needed to vote against the acceptance of the monstrous electoral fraud? GOPee RIP!

I have come to the conclusion that there at least two separate issues that arose with the election. The Democrats were intent on getting rid of Trump and there was massive fraud in the process.

Time was an issue. There was simply not time to marshal the forces and evidence to win in the courts. There was no saving Trump.

The fraud issue can and likely will be taken up perhaps in the courts but certainly in the state legislative bodies and then the courts.

The decided course was to sacrifice the presidency and the Trump second term for the election purity. Rather than lose in haste, time and effort would be expended after the fact ot insure future election integrity for ever. A loss in the courts in December 2020 after a half assed fight will be disasterous.

I wanted the Trump win and the winning of the fight as much as everyone here. Those elected by us to decide did just that. They also decided that a Biden Presidency could be mitigated by the various forces at hand.

We’ll see
