Joe Biden’s campaigning from his basement and frequent lids, where Biden was kept away from the media, were a common punchline in conservative media. “How can Joe run a campaign from his basement and hiding from the media?” “How can he be trusted to run the country if he can’t handle a campaign?”
Even when he did leave the basement he got questions about milkshakes. There were times when Joe Biden wouldn’t be seen for days. His campaign told us that it was because of debate prep, but no one actually believed it.
But the campaign is over now. Regardless of whether you believe Biden was legitimately elected, he has the job he applied for, the job we were told repeatedly by his campaign he was fit to handle. So it’s more than a bit concerning that on Saturday, a mere four days into his presidency, Kelly O’Donnell, the White House correspondent for NBC News, reported that the White House had called a lid, and Biden would not be seen in public for the rest of the day.
The White House calls a "lid" on the first Saturday of this administration so we will not see President Biden for any public event the rest of the day.

This isn’t even funny anymore. It never actually was funny, but now it’s far more serious. Biden and his campaign assured the country he was perfectly fit and able to handle the duties of president, and yet Biden is already being hidden from the media four days into the job.
When President Trump got COVID-19, he didn’t let that stop him from running the country, even as Biden called another lid.

According to reports, Biden has had two injections of one of the now available COVID vaccines, so far. This morning I heard that at least 121 people have died after receiving the vaccine. President Asterisk risks his own health by remaining in office, if you can call it that.

FDR helped to found the March of Dimes a charity devoted to polio (that’s why he’s on the dime btw) and the press did cover his trips to Warm Springs, GA which was known a facility for treating polio.
The fact that FDR was in a wheel chair and stood (and even faked walked with help) using braces didn’t much diminish his ability to function as POTUS. Biden’s problems are quite a bit different. I seriously doubt he is capable of discharging his duties as POTUS and in today’s world, keeping that secret is going to be difficult.
The press was able to suppress Hunter’s laptop from much of the public, but a very large percentage knew about it. Hiden’ Biden, I don’t think will be possible.
So, who will deliver the State of the Union address? If Biden has gone underground earlier in the day will it be Zoomed? Or recorded earlier to be shown on a big screen in the House? If they do that, his handlers can carefully edit out all his gaffes and make him look like he is in charge, but you know, the covid and all that.
Another point, ALL the other world leaders are watching this and making plans accordingly.

When is his State of the Union address? Maybe they are trying to get him camera ready for that event.

FDR’s body was debilitated but not his mind.
Obama was a dangerous combination of arrogance and ignorance, but Biden is a very dangerous combination of being on China’s payroll and his mind is just not there. I still can’t understand why Jill would have allowed him to go through this, unless she is compromised also.
Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey will do their best to censor anything negative about Joe but the word will still get out and people will see him when he makes incoherent statements.

When I hear ‘lid’ being used that way, I think of how marijuana used to be measured for dispensing.
That doesn’t sound very dignified or presidential to me.
I also recall a Children’s show in early 70’s
called LidsVille. Maybe that will be the new name for
Uncle Joe’s White House.
