Trump jumps into a divisive battle over the Republican Party — with a threat to start a ‘MAGA Party’

PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former president Donald Trump threw himself back into politics this weekend by publicly endorsing a devoted and divisive acolyte in Arizona who has embraced his false election conspiracy theories and entertained the creation of a new “MAGA Party.”

In a recorded phone call, he offered his “complete and total endorsement” for another term for Arizona state party chairwoman Kelli Ward, a lightning rod who has sparred with the state’s Republican governor, been condemned by the business community and overseen a recent flight in party registrations. She narrowly won reelection, by a margin of 51.5 percent to 48.5 percent, marking Trump’s first victory in a promised battle to maintain political relevance and influence after losing the 2020 election.

In recent weeks, Trump has entertained the idea of creating a third party, called the Patriot Party, and instructed his aides to prepare election challenges to lawmakers who crossed him in the final weeks in office, including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.), according to people familiar with the plans.

Georgia can be dynamited entirely. It is a worthless state with worthless people. The average IQ is 72. How the hell are they even considered a state. I know an individual from McCrea, GA and he is the simplest dope I have ever come across. He is entertaining at first and disappointing at the last.

I didn’t think it would happen. I just said that’s my preference.

If conservatives today had the heart and determination of the FFs, maybe we could pull it off, but probably not. The government now definitely is too big to fail/fall.

Our President cannot say ANYTHING in public until the sham impeachment is concluded. Anything he says before hand that is of any use will be used against him as further proof of his intention to incite violence and proof of his past perfidy.

We’ll hear from The Man in March. In the meantime the Democrats will demonstrate to the American people how detestable they are and how inept they are at anything except destroying the American way of life.

So transparent; the point of the story is that the WashPost, and their allies, want to goad him, and others, into starting a third party so that there will be only one dominant party in the country from now on.

that really just means Democrat plurality wins until the Republican party is diminished to the level of the Libertarian Party, which could take a few decades

************

I think the GOP would be decimated by the advent of a new party. Conservative voters desperately want a party they can believe in and one that will fight for their values and principles. The GOP is never going to be that party.

A critical mass already exists to fund and energize a new party. The Gutless Old Party has jumped the shark and its time for the sufferers of battered wife syndrome in the party to look beyond it to a new future.

Both the GOP and the Dems are terrified of this. Especially the GOP which knows it would be quickly rendered an empty shell of a party (which many believe it already is).

Excellent example. That’s just how it would go.

Lot of people, Trump fans and haters both, are concerned about the person and not the policies.
What we want are Trump’s policies enacted and continued.
That doesn’t require Trump to do more than help from the sidelines. I think he’s willing to do that.

Sad but true. TR tried it in 1912 and ran second and the GOP’s Taft third. But all that did was leave us with a legacy of Wilson.

Thats not a good analogy. TR was pissed at Taft, (who he encouraged to run btw), and formed his Bull Moose Progressive party. But at the time People were not fed up with the Republican party like they are now. The RNC will try to present themselves as the only alternative to the democraps, but they are the same party, chinese connected and traitors to the one man who proved change can happen and the majority of voters truly love, Trump. The republicants are the new Whigs. They cannot be changed because there are way too many flavors of them from Susan Collins to Josh Hawley. If anything screen only uber conservatives and only invite them in.to the new MAGA party! No Nikki Haleys! No Linda Grahams. Have a charter like Newts Contract with America that sets absolute goals (balenced budget, smaller government, gun rights, right to live, etc) and make it favor all races and people for true equality, and its game over for both RNC & DNC.

The Republican brand is dead. The name must change.

75,000,000 Trump votes

34,500,000 registered Republican voters, at 75% turnout that’s
26,000,000 registered Republican votes

They can join MAGA if they behave, we are larger than the Republicrat party.

If the Democrats manage to pass an AWB in the next two years, I am fully in support of allowing the GOP to rot. They will have earned it. I want to fight but if this battle is lost, I have nothing left to fight for but my own life and they can all go to hell-democrats and republicans alike. I will be done with this BS.

No Republicans, not now, not ever.

Its amazing how many people are willing to continue supporting a party that doesn’t support them. Simply amazing.

“LET’S YOU AND HIM FIGHT!”
Screams the fake news from the WashPost.

Yup.

I’m getting increasingly passed off by the obvious inflammatory headlines by so-called news sources.

The Republican brand is damaged beyond repair, and the GOPe will never give up control of the party since it is their slush fund. Better to start something that he would have full control over.

to begin a secession movement. It would take a while, but it would be worth it.

The Republicans have been importing a permanent Democrat majority for 30 years, they want only one dominant party.

Term Limits could fix the Congress Critters and take it out of their hands put it to vote

************

Our elected representatives have zero intention of giving up their exalted positions and power over some silly principle of good governance. They lied their asses off to get where they are and they’ll do the same thing to stay in their positions. You’ll never get them to go along with limiting their own careers (and the substantial financial wealth that goes along with it).

These people love and defend the Swamp. Its their whole reason for being. Leaving Washington and going back home is the worst thing that could happen to them which is why they constant beg for money. Giving up their seat means going back to the drudgery of a mundane and anonymous life in Nowhereville USA.

We don’t need a a MAGA Party.

But we do need a MAGA Stamp of Approval. That would be a Trump or Trump Organization endorsement and funding, That would apply to both the Primary and General Elections.

In the end, that’s the right thing to do and that’s what Trump will choose to do.
