PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former president Donald Trump threw himself back into politics this weekend by publicly endorsing a devoted and divisive acolyte in Arizona who has embraced his false election conspiracy theories and entertained the creation of a new “MAGA Party.”
In a recorded phone call, he offered his “complete and total endorsement” for another term for Arizona state party chairwoman Kelli Ward, a lightning rod who has sparred with the state’s Republican governor, been condemned by the business community and overseen a recent flight in party registrations. She narrowly won reelection, by a margin of 51.5 percent to 48.5 percent, marking Trump’s first victory in a promised battle to maintain political relevance and influence after losing the 2020 election.
In recent weeks, Trump has entertained the idea of creating a third party, called the Patriot Party, and instructed his aides to prepare election challenges to lawmakers who crossed him in the final weeks in office, including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.), according to people familiar with the plans.

Why does everyone want him to start a Patriot Party? The Constitution Party is just sitting there, ripe for the picking. It’s organized. It has a good platform. Adding another party dilutes everything. Have him register for the Constitution party, and within a week there’ll be 80,000,000 members of the Constitution Party.
It would be interesting to see which Congress critters would change their registrations.
Since the USC is now a dead letter joining them would be a farce?

I agree that none would. Even the newcomers are partially entrenched in the current system. I guess they could be in a new party and caucus with the GOP — until the GOP dies in 20 years.
It’s a mess. There are no good answers except to completely fix the election cheating in every state, and that won’d happen.

The RINO’s (which is basically most of the party) will don their ‘conservative’ hats like they always do when they’re in political trouble. Not going to work for them this time. Trump has exposed them all. Their charade is over.

The answer, of course, is WE THE PEOPLE must once again learn, read, and understand the U.S. Constitution, our ONLY legal bulwark of freedom against federal tyranny and corruption.
The Constitution created the federal government and is the ONLY source of power and authority of the feds. If it is not in the Constitution, it is not a legitimate federal power, act, or law. Based on that, most of the federal government is unconstitutional and that unconstitutional portion must be dismantled.
WE THE PEOPLE need to learn the Presumptions, Structure, Text, and Court Perversions. This is the KEY to the restoration of America’s Free Constitutional Republic.
It’s cute watching the ComPost worry about the GOP. I guess you might if you needed it as a foil.
If it doesn’t happen, will you accept that you’re just letting your imagination go wild? I suspect there will be no or almost no defections to a separate Conservative party in the House. I think the House GOP knows that won’t work.
I don’t think you understand how local/state politics works. There is a large infrastructure of Republicans at the state level who aren’t going to magically switch to a new party.
It’s just not going to happen.
