The troops were made to move by an as yet unidentified Capitol Police person. Capitol Police are under control of th House and Senate. If they were going to be at the Capitol, who is the genius who made their food and shelter decisions and arrangements? Congresspeople of both parties reacted with outrage and got them back into the Capitol. They had been resting on the floor in hallways as Congressional personnel walked around them to conduct a workday’s business. I heard earlier that they had not been allowed to eat in one of the Congressional cafeterias, a wrong that has also been corrected. Note, this was not DC police or DC government.
