Amnesty for illegal immigrants is bad for American workers, according to a tweet from GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.
“A proposal to gut immigration enforcement and give blanket amnesty? Rough ‘day one’ for American workers,” said the tweet.
The failed Paris deal will hurt American families while China and Russia grow emissions.
The Keystone cancellation will kill union jobs and hurt U.S. energy security.
And a proposal to gut immigration enforcement and give blanket amnesty?
Rough "day one" for American workers.
— Leader McConnell (@LeaderMcConnell) January 21, 2021
The tweet is McConnell’s first mention of immigration on his Twitter account.
The tweet came as GOP politicians are moving to embrace the populist policies they will need to get reelected in 2022 and 2024, and also to regain a majority in the Senate.
“Before we deal with immigration, we need to … make sure everyone has the chance to find a good job,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said January 19. He added:
America should always welcome immigrants who want to become Americans. But we need laws that decide who and how many people can come here, and those laws must be followed and enforced. There are many issues I think we can work cooperatively with President-elect Biden, but a blanket amnesty for people who are here unlawfully isn’t going to be one of them.
“It is deeply troubling that most of Joe Biden’s first acts as president were to protect illegal immigrants and encourage illegal immigration at the expense of American jobs and workers,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said after Biden announced his amnesty plans.
Other GOP senators focus on regulation, businesses, borrowing, and taxes while ignoring the damaging impact of foreign workers moving into Americans’ jobs.

Nope Mitch needs to be gone, period.
Yeah.
“Gee, Bitch-connell, I guess you should have worked a bit harder to keep President Trump in office - instead of stabbing him in the back for your Chi-com partners, you effing Judas a-hole.”
^^^ WINNER ^^^
I think we should pardon Benedict Arnold..
Along side these people he was a piker
Shut up, Mitch. You revoked your right to be relevant.
Wow, Mitch should just keep his mouth shut. NOTHING redeeming will come from that pit of stupudity.
McConnell needs to shut the heel sine he caused the biden administration.
I’d be surprised if they get more than 5 or 6.
If they try to take away Trump’s ability to hold any political office again. Those 17 Republicans will destroy the Party and will destroy their careers.
These Senate Republicans can’t be that stupid? Can they?
I’ve never seen the base this fired up at these pussies.
No flames coming for that post.
The GOP is mostly dead and Miracle Max is all out of cures.
There is a handful of good guys in the republican party, but the overwhelming majority are worthless.
More disgusting in mine...I know what a low-life, worthless piece of crap Chuckie is...Beijing Mitch pretends to be something he will never be, a conservative, loyal American.
ROUGH???????????
ROUGH????????????
Throw the Turdlemitch off the Great Wall of China.
If he’s lucky, his CCP commie buddies will be standing below with a swamp turtle net.
The unmitigated gall of these people.
This should be placed around McConnell’ s Neck, he is as responsible for this as the semi-lucid Biden.
“The unmitigated gall of these people.”
So very true. Unbelievable.
Constitutional monkeyshine like Wickard v Filburn is one thing, but if they’re going to shine on the Constitution at this level, that’s prima facie evidence of an actionable violation of the Oath of Office. At least, it is under the Rule of Law.
Good thing you helped facilitate the certification of a phony election, eh Mitch.
Spare me.
Ditch NEVER helped to build the wall.
Ditch his “leadership”.
