The Republican Future Starts Now
Wall Street Journal ^ | January 20, 2021 | Karl Rove

Posted on 01/21/2021 5:20:54 AM PST by karpov

President Joe Biden’s inauguration marks not only a new administration’s beginning but also a new chapter for the loyal opposition.

The Grand Old Party lost the White House while picking up U.S. House seats, holding half the Senate, and adding to its numbers in state legislative chambers. These conflicting outcomes leave Republicans facing the difficult task of cementing blue-collar Trump voters into their ranks while regaining strength in the suburbs and making inroads with an increasingly diverse electorate.

To rebuild, Republicans must decide what their party stands for. The way forward begins with clarifying what the GOP’s answers should be to the nation’s challenges, with an eye to the 2022 elections.

This won’t be easy. Tensions between the party’s various elements are difficult to navigate, but it’s important to remember that President Donald Trump’s most popular achievements were conservative: originalist judges, a pro-growth tax cut, regulatory relief, strong national defense, recognition of the global threat posed by China, secure borders, and respect for life and religious liberty.

OP officeholders, candidates and party leaders should offer ideas that apply timeless conservative principles to America’s changing circumstances. As Republicans oppose the Biden administration’s agenda, they should contrast their new initiatives with the Democrats’ approach. The key is to remember that what they’re for is as important as what they’re against. The values underlying Republican initiatives are crucial, too. There are more conservatives in America who believe in traditional values, family, faith, personal responsibility, patriotism and law and order than there are liberals who don’t.

This will require forbearance, which is in short supply in some quarters of the party. Republicans should be guided by President Ronald Reagan’s rule: “The person who agrees with you 80% of the time is a friend and an ally, not a 20% traitor.”

” There are more conservatives in America who believe in traditional values, family, faith, personal responsibility, patriotism and law and order than there are liberals who don’t.”

And yet, Biden beat Trump by over 5 million votes. This is why Karl Rove is nothing more than a putz who represents the Deep State Republicans.

I’ve voted Globalist Stooge exclusively, save two votes for Trump and two for Reagan, since 1976. No more for me. I’m a former GOP stooge and it feels good.

I didn't leave the Republican Party, the Republican Party committed treason and cooperated on Election Theft.

Fake Votes.

...Not My President.

Ask you friends and neighbors if they'll admit voting for the Kiddie Sniffer.

$4 a gallon gas, non-stop BLM/Antifa riots, a shrinking economy, and foreign terrorists rising up will help solidify Republican support. The problem is we’ll never find another Trump. His kind only come along once in a lifetime.

Agree. It was so refreshing not have to care at all who won the GA Senate runoffs.

That’s not going to happen. The Dems are going to shelve their most radical agenda and keep the suburbs asleep while demographics tilt ever more in their favor.

Then you better get ready for permanent minority status. A caucus just won’t cut it and I am not voting for any more GOPE BS.

Rove is the worst offender. This is just bald-faced salt in the wound.

“We screwed you, and now you need to rub some dirt on it and move on, because where are you going to go.

Yup, we let them steal an election and fundamentally change the entire form of government.

What about it?”

Then you need to tell the boys at the country club to get ready for more ass kicking because we are not interested in the GOP as it is currently constituted and they cannot say trust us again and expect anything except for the party loyalist who vote R no matter how they are treated. At this point the GOP doesn’t have any leeway on expecting conservative support. We know they are lying again and until they show a spine and actually fight they are done.

The reality is with voter fraud now the norm we are talking about winning elections again which isn’t going to happen.

I fully agree. The GOP has to take immediate ACTIONS if they want to keep some of us who have changed our registration from GOP to Unaffiliated. Some of those actions would be:

1. Immediately remove Liz Cheney from her #3 position in the House.
2. Immediately remove all 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump from any Committee or Subcommittee assignments.
3. Immediately start work with the GOP State Legislators to fix the Election Laws in GOP controlled States.

Without these immediate actions, the GOP is dead.

Agreed. As a lifelong Republican, I think I will be going Democrat. I will stay for the primaries hoping to promote True Conservatives, but I think will be a rabid Dem in the generals.

What they believe may be stupid, but they are willing to fight for it.

Have to ever seen a Dem buck his party?

These people are mental ill, just like the democRATS.

Are they so blind and out of touch that they can't see that Trump's supporters hate Republicans and will never vote for them again, reconstituted as a new and improved party or not?

Isolated by the DC bubble, immersed in the Deep State and delusional about their usefulness and own lack of popularity, the Republican party as we know it, is dead.

In this age of information, delivers from hundreds of different sources via the internet, their lies, deceit, pomposity and arrogance is plain for all Americans to see. They don't need to be told by the traditional MSM television networks or the radical, far-Left printed media, how and what they need to believe in. People can decide for themselves and they chose a new breath of fresh air in Trump.

The 75 million+ patriotic Americans who voted for Trump and had their votes disinfranchised by the stolen election, will never vote for Republicans again. They feel anger towards the democRATS for stealing the election from them and Trump and betrayal by the Republicans for siding with the thieving, corrupt democRATS.

People are not stupid and easily swayed into believing the lies of the politicians in the cabal in Washington anymore. Red state Americans will sink their ship the first chance they get. They have pissed off a good portion of the electorate and they will eventually rue the day they decided to cross them.

If Trumps does come back and forms the Patriot Party, it's ranks will be emboldened and swell in ranks and come back with a vengeance to destroy those who betrayed them. This crime against their leader, Trump, and the Republic will not stand.
