So many people have died in Los Angeles County that officials have temporarily suspended air-quality regulations that limit the number of cremations. Health officials and the L.A. County coroner requested the change because the current death rate is “more than double that of pre-pandemic years, leading to hospitals, funeral homes and crematoriums exceeding capacity, without the ability to process the backlog,” the South Coast Air Quality Management District said Sunday.

Sometimes? It's probably an epidemiological fact. You 'flatten the curve', which made sense to help hospitals and front line workers from being overloaded with ill people in a very heavy wave... but at the price of prolonging the curve of disease over time. Without a cure, which we probably had in some combination of HCQ+ or Ivermectin+ which was denied authorization by states and the FDA, the only choice is to let it run its course and let people choose for themselves - risk it, or isolate until it passes.
I know back in February the missus was up visiting her mother, I told her on her way back stop at the most remote costco you can find and load up on dried and canned goods. She argued a bit, but relented. Turned out they had already had a rush on most of the stuff but she got a lot, including the last bag of rice, and had to go to the supermarket across the street to get toilet paper. She told the manager on her way out "better order more, if Costco is sold out you're next". Point being, back in February most of our so-called leaders were denying there was even a disease. Turns out, they bungled everything. I'm not targeting Trump mind you, but the entire alphabet swamp and many of the crazy mayors and governors we have in this country. You gotta be a megalomaniac to run for office to be totally un-phased by the last 12 months.
