Report: Joe Biden to Cancel Keystone XL Pipeline Permit on Day One
Breitbart ^ | 01.18.2020 | JOEL B. POLLAK

President-elect Joe Biden plans to cancel the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office, according to several news sources.

The decision delighted advocates of the so-called “Green New Deal,” but will disappoint Biden’s own political allies in the trade union movement, who had backed the pipeline for the thousands of jobs it would create.

As Breitbart News reported last year:

The Keystone XL pipeline would run from Canada’s oil sands in Alberta across the border and into Nebraska. From there, the oil would be pumped through existing pipelines to refineries in the Gulf of Mexico. The project passed environmental reviews under the Obama administration, but was stalled due to opposition from environmental groups concerned about climate. (Supporters of the pipeline noted the oil would be extracted, regardless: the alternative was export to China.)

President Donald Trump issued an executive order on his third full day in office effectively giving the green light to Keystone XL, inviting it to re-apply for permits and instructing federal agencies to move the project along rapidly.

Biden, who is the presumptive Democratic Party nominee, promised in May that he would stop the Keystone XL pipeline “for good” if he was elected president.

Four labor unions — the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the International Union of Operating Engineers, the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA), and the United Association of Union Plumbers and Pipefitters — reached a project labor agreement (PLA) last August with TC Energy, the Canadian company responsible for the pipeline.

Under Harris/Biden:

Say goodbye to these energy jobs.

Say goodbye to energy independence from foreign powers who hate us.

Say goodbye to reasonable energy costs.

Say goodbye to this energy source that will now probably go to Biden's friends in China.

-- But the freedoms and the nation we will be asked to say goodbye to -- will make these things seem small.

After four years, the deep state still would not give full approval for the pipeline.....stalling in the hopes of killing the project when administrations change.

The oil will still be transported. Only it will be with Warren Buffett’s railway system like it has been for decades. Warren Buffett is THE key Democratic party donor.

There is a solution to this problem.

Its called secession.

Yet there are those, even on this site, who do not support it.

When the SCOTUS failed in its duties to slap down those states who violated what used to be the US Constitution, that is when I was finally fully convinced that there is no way we can co-exist.

It’s what Pennsylvania wanted. They got what they voted for.

It’s unfortunate that people have to suffer in order to learn.

A train is just an above ground pipeline.

I would add the following to your good list:

The capacity of the Biden administration to borrow money without devastating inflation occurs partly because America is the world's reserve currency.

One of the props to the United States dollar is the fact that we are a net petroleum exporter.

Knock that prop way and hasten the inevitable crash.

For America such a crash is a lose-lose but for The Left a win-win.

Gasoline was $1.68 on election day. It’s now $2.10 per gallon.

Spit.

I think off shore drilling is dependent on government renewed leases. Many were not under Obama and I wonder if the same is going to happen under Biden......

I’m sorry. I know that many of you didn’t, but you’re going to have to fight your government every step of the way.

I know rural-wise, it’s almost 100% for Trump, but it’s your cities that doomed you.

And I don’t have answers for how to counteract liberal cities.

Yes, Biden is Obama two. Those behind him have seized the power of your country and they are going to go Soviet or Mao on the rest of the country. I don’t think they are going to hesitate on anything, because they are not intending to have elections in 2022 and beyond.

Unfortunately it seems some people need to see the suffering that Democrats inflict first hand instead of wisely and obviously defeating them in the first place. Hopefully the job losses will hit the people that voted for Biden bitterly hard.

They’ve had years to build the pipeline, I think the reason they didn’t do it was because the business had figured it wasn’t worth I it. There’s already a pipeline from Canada to Texas.

This might be Biden pulling a political theater move, rather than actually doing something with any significance.
