...on Tuesday morning, when he went to sign in to the district platform, he was locked out.

The same thing happened to other teachers who refused to go back as Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) carried out the first part of her school reopening plan, despite fierce resistance from the Chicago Teachers Union. The school district is requiring all teachers in the tier that started offering in-person instruction on Monday to teach from their schools...

...It started disciplinary procedures early in the week on more than 140 employees for not reporting to schools in person and has withheld pay and locked them out of the school system’s accounts, deeming them absent without leave. By Friday, the number of designated AWOL employees dropped to 87. But 901 of the 3,787 employees did not report on Friday, including 479 teachers, according to Chicago Public Schools data.

Government school teachers have self-identified as non-essential.

Time to get rid of them all and allocate the dollars to each student and they get to decide what school they want to go to.

I always figured the hardest part of being a teacher was dealing with the kids.

Chicago teachers have developed a work around: get rid of the kids.

Chicago children are lucky they have not been shot down in the streets.

Thousands are each year - children and parents.

Teachers don’t or won’t teach, fire them. I’ve repeated told that to administrators at our kid’s schools.

"Government school teachers have self-identified as non-essential. Time to get rid of them all..."

I think teachers from grade school to Masters degree are partly responsible for the mess we find America in today....not teaching history, geography, math without bias, without facts...mainly opinions of their "heroes" and doing what their heroes tell them to do...most schools and colleges are tuned into "Social Media" and do what is the current fad.

As said, "Our children are not getting an education, they are getting an indoctrination"...that said where do we start. Maybe in neighborhoods, church schools...we must try and start so our young will not be as ignorant, as a large percentage of parents are today.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

The CTU is a criminal organization. It should be treated as such.

This is an illegal job action and should void the CTU’s contract.

And it would, if the CPD had done this.

>>Good. Close all public schools permanently.

Teachers are ok with that - just so long as their checks keep on coming, and they still get a fat/early retirement and lifetime health benefits.
