The Green Bay Packers' Quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, slammed politicians who created Wuhan coronavirus restrictions yet failed to follow their own rules. He also took issue with Congress' inability to pass a second round of stimulus relief checks for Americans.
Rodgers applauded the Barstool Fund, which provides direct relief to small businesses and employees who are struggling due to the pandemic. The quarterback donated $500,000 to the fund, which has raised more than $22 million so far.
He applauded Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for getting money from the fund to recipients In a timely manner, usually between 24 and 72 hours.
"I think there was such a need. If you look around our environment today, it's not like the government is really helping anybody out in a timely fashion," Rodgers explained. "I mean, they took forever to figure out how to give $600 checks away, and then you know may or may not get to $2,000 at this point. That's not life-changing money," he said. "What Dave and his folks are doing with the Barstool Fund is life-changing money. It's sustainability for these people, and I think that's the thing you gravitate toward the most is just not having a reliance on the government to help you out, because it's obviously shown that's not going to be the way they're going to do it."

Rodgers still plays at a very high level. They will dismiss him as an eccentric. But this marks him, if he slips, he’s gone.
And it will affect future endorsements.
Do not stray from leftist thought, or you will be punished.
Guess I’m in for a lashing. 😂🙌
WHO CARES
Who?
Surprising statement for a Berkley grad.
And his little brother played for Vanderbilt.
Oh please. He’s protected as a big time liberal.
How long until his FB and Twitter accounts are deleted for spreading false claims about the covids?
“Surprising statement for a Berkley grad.“
Born and raised in Chico CA. For those who do not know, that is northern CA, the real northern CA, where we consider Berkley CA as southern CA.
His last contract was for $134 million, he could have hundreds of dollars saved, if not thousands. (after taxes)
Rodgers led the Packers to a win yesterday and they will play the winner of the Bucs - Saints game today. In Green Bay next Sunday. I doubt he could do anything to alienate Packer fans in the meantime.
He was speaking in the context of a donation he was making, and not terribly critical of the government in general, just the hypocrites who don’t practice what they preach, which is so obviously true no one can get too excited.
He’s a liberal.
He gave $500,000 to barstool sports.
The few times he is asked about politics, he does sound left of center.
But the man is a machine on the football field. Yesterday was masterful, pure and simple.
As goofy as this dude has been in the past, these comments by him may indicate his run for a public office after his retirement.
Yesterday, after the game, and yes I watched it, he made the comment of how grateful he and his team was for the few fans in the stands. He said that it made them play/perform all the harder.
Even though a lib, this message was sanity from a celebrity athelete, very rare. I’ll applaud and defend the message, but yes, we have to be careful about going into worship mode.
