People need to accept the fact that most politicians of both parties want the status quo - the swamp - the lobbyists - the power - the gravy train.
Sure the Republicans have a much better “platform”. But when push comes to shove Republican politicians are conflicted.
Their power comes from the size and scope of the government. If Trump succeeded in draining the swamp, deregulating industry, putting America first and bringing our troops home - millions of bureaucrats and lobbyists would be out of a job.
The politicians are paid by lobbyists to deliver - if Trump succeeded, they could not deliver and the lobbyists would stop the gravy train.
Expecting politicians to do the right thing is like expecting a union boss to agree that workers should be free to join the union or not - they are never going to agree - they would be giving up power.
It’s like expecting BLM to agree that all lives matter.. they are ever going to say that.
Many Republicans - especially the older ones - actually li on d it better when the Democrats are running things - they can tax and spend and buy votes - they can end up wealthy just like a Democrat.
McCarthy apparently is still wandering about, stupid or evil, take your pick.

Professional politicians are globalists. They won’t say this outright, but that is where the political science and legal educations “guide” the students. That the world will de-nationalize is settled. The only disagreements are how to manage the transition.
Professional politicians are also grifters. Paid puppet actors who do what they are told, and are paid very well. The system has all sorts of side benefits, your family can get jobs that pay well, revolving door to law firm, think tnak, etc. Cash-back schemes for foreign and domestic aid. This lucrative and corrupt system will never give up power voluntarily. It will fight the people, openly if need be.
Why the snap judgement. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but something’s rotten in DC.

Kevin McCarthy is being plenty smart about this - but he is interested in cutting President’s Trump’s popular support out from under him, not in finding the truth.

Mccarthy sent email begging for donations. I replied not one damn dime to Republicans who wasted opportunities to fix what’s wrong but had time to attack Trump.
Many of us here were against McCarthy when he was picked to be leader but as usual the republicans didn’t listen.
McCarthy is a loser and anyone that sticks with him is a loser.
Don’t think for a moment that he picked up a few seats for us because he didn’t, Trump did that.
Now we have him and his new squeeze, Liz Cheney, bad mouthing President Trump.
