Calling National Guardsmen takes tax dollars.
Where will they bivouac?? Where will the porta-potties be located? Will that include those sodium-rich MRE’s? What coffeeshops will REFUSE them service?
These are, after all, military mall police, and NOT ‘the regulars’.
And lastly, they are NOT ‘locals’.
(If I sound acidic, I am a Katrina survivor, who spent several weeks in a ‘FEMA /Red Cross shelter’, hosting Iowa armed National Guardsmen.)
Don’t you get it??? Just like January 6 they have enlisted antifa / blm to wear Trump gear and go to dc to raise hell so Trump can be blamed once again. Then the commies can say “see, we told you. Trump and his supporters are domestic terrorists”.

It’s interesting that this time they apparently voted without arguments like last time. The sheer stupidity of this house is breathtaking. Did they do the “funeral march” to the Senate this time?

It won’t be seen as Antifa rioting, it will be see by the ignorant masses as Trumpers rioting, because Antifa will dress as Trumpers and pose for the complicit media cameras.

Not sure why anyone thought 2021 was going to magically be better just because the clock struck midnight on January 1st.
Their challenge is this: When the left acts, they come out with bricks and umbrellas - and attack cars and businesses, rather than the government that is the enemy. When the right acts they come out with guns, and attack the government that is the enemy.
So, if motivated to bring it to that level, the right is far more dangerous. The left is a pet Chihuahua. The right is a pet Lion. Stop feeding it at your peril.

DC National Guard is different chain of command.
There’s no one at the Senate to receive the vote for impeachment. Senate is not in session until Tuesday. The earliest they would take up consideration of a trial is one hour after the inauguration. People attack McConnell but he’s the one who made it impossible for them to have a second show trial. If he was serious about voting to convict and remove, he would not have set the timeline in this fashion. He wanted that story leaked out there for his own political cover while he protected the Senate from the insanity of the House.
But fences don’t work. /s
Take note of the optics here, they are fencing the American People out of the halls of power but decry efforts to fence drug cartels and human traffickers out at the border.
But this was in the house for a very long time before they voted. We got to watch vindman, et al destroy themselves. This time, a simple “we hate Trump” vote and, POOF, he’s impeached.

People here are posting like Dems are putting all these guards in place.
So I wonder, who requested them?
If Trump is the one that controls them, why is Trump putting them there? Why so many?
Is some thing else anticpated by Trump he’s preparing for?
I read a ton of web pages every day. I have yet to read any realistic stories or comments that indicate any massive movements towards any capital, let alone DC.
My Son in Law is a state trooper and my daughter is in Emergency Management in MA. They haven’t heard of any credible threat, anywhere in the state.
The ONLY place I see or hear fear of “attack” is on the main stream news outlets.
These guys sure know how to put on a show.

It’s a good thing when the government fears the people.
It is bizarre because other states are sending Guard units; it would make more sense if it was just DC.
