The "trial" is going to take five minutes. With a hangin' judge like John Roberts and 80+ votes to convict? Maybe three minutes.
But, here's the thing - they were MUCH MORE AFRAID than the circumstances justified - AND THEY STILL ARE.
Think how WICKED they must be - even more than I suspected, when I thought that would be impossible.

Not in the house. Think of what is happening in the house as being brought up on charges. Then his trial happens in the Senate. That is where he gets to defend.
Conventional wisdom says that the party that is defending more seats in an election has, all things being equal, a bigger challenge to not lose seats.

Kangaroos and their courts! What due process has been pursued here? Where has the house done any due diligence to determine the facts? This is just another example of our American institutions being in contradiction to the tenants of our Constitution.
Make no mistake, these democrats are already looking at the mid-term elections of 2022.
They are also doing all they can to associate Pence with this to erase him as a viable candidate.
In my opinion, they'll overplay this, just like they did during the last trial.
This is at least the third coup attempt with only seven days left in the term. We had fake Russia Collusion, impeachment one, now impeachment two.
At every turn they sought to embarrass, humiliate this president at home and abroad.
They don’t care what 75 million voters think because they feel they have an insurmountable advantage going forward.
Why the police requests for the national guard went unanswered? Has anyone stated the obvious about this? That the protesters were actually ANTIFA?
I don’t know about your lumping Clinton in there. There was some substance to his impeachment. Trumps seem to be visceral hatred and high intensity emotions for malevolent political purposes, damn the voters.
Clinton committed a felony, perjury in a civil matter while he was POTUS. There were other potential criminal charges with his actions as it related to witness and evidence involving Betty Curry. There was also a lot of debate also on removal of a POTUS who was elected by millions of people then. Clinton was given due process. Clinton had a compliant media and effectively used the “everybody lies about sex” defense. This led to the position, deal with the felonies after he is out of office. It was decided that felonies committed in a personal civil matter by a sitting demonkkkrap POTUS were determined to be not worthy of removal. He got a sweet heart plea deal after he left, as it was highly unlikely any jury would convict him. Many conservatives changed their opinions after Clinton’s impeachment for many reasons, some of them expedient, especially since it wasn’t fashionable with the party crowd.
Clinton never had the previous administration commit unpunished felonies with no evidence against him and his campaign in effort to remove him from office during his entire term. Trump has been denied due process in both impeachment efforts. Mark my words, like in the wake of the Clinton impeachment, the same mind control, rewriting of history and brainwashing will be done on the issue of 2016 voter fraud and election rigging by media and big tech, and many “conservatives” will fall in line. The issue was never given due process with the collection of evidence, and any one talking about a “stolen election” will be deemed a nut bag or worse. It will not be investigated like the hanging chads in Florida were in 2001. Trumps whole presidency, like Nixon’s tape, will be boiled down to Jan 6, 2021 speech on the DC mall.
I’ll stop here, but for me, the only thing these three impeachments have in common is the spelling of the word “i m p e a c h m e n t.”
