Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell 'is done' and 'furious' with President Trump a source familiar confirmed to Fox News.
The source told Fox News that McConnell has shared with associates that impeachment will help rid the Republican Party of Trump and his movement.
It is unclear how McConnell would vote in an impeachment trial, should House Democrats vote to impeach Trump. It is not clear at this point whether McConnell would vote to convict.
Meanwhile, other sources told Fox News that there is "no love lost there."
Part of McConnell’s anger, according to sources, is that the Senate Majority was lost to the Democrats just last Tuesday in the Georgia Senate runoffs, but sources said that McConnell is extremely upset about the president’s actions Wednesday leading up to the riot at the Capitol......."

I think Trump will be impeached in the House, but not removed/convicted by the Senate unless the GOP wants to commit suicide.
Why is he furious with Trump? They know Biden stole the election. They were just too cowardly to fight for the republic. They are so damn stupid they think everything goes back to normal under Biden and we all go back to voting for the lesser of two evils. Fk no.
I believe McConnell would personally love to purge Trump from the GOP. But he would be purging Trump's voter coalition along with Trump. Obviously GOP slight right conservatives and RINOS will remain, but the rest of the coalition will leave. We are not GOP. McConnell knows that and he knows there is nobody out there who can convince MAGA conservatives not to stay home in 2022 if they screw Trump over now. They will need to hold all their current seats and pick one up. They will need MAGA voters in 2022 and 2024. Trump controls a big portion of those voters.
I hope millions of people that registered as GOP prior to the election, change their registration to unaffiliated or independent. The GOP was crowing about all the new people they enrolled. It would be awesome to see them eating the same crow when millions of those people leave the GOP.

Dems are hoping to diffuse the unpopularity of impeachment on to both parties. Any GOP who supports this is an idiot even in terms of self preservation.
He is possibly quite right; as a third LARGE party could be formed from the Republicans.
But; he could ALSO say that this tactic could 'rid' the Democrats from folks that still have two or more functioning brain cells left!
Hard to choose which is worse, McConnell or Harry Reid.
McConnell is much worse, he is not a traitor to his party.
Time is running out, and I sincerely hope something is done to correct the corruption and complete disregard for justice within DC.
What baffles me are the Republicans from red states that stabbed Trump in the back. It’s a unified effort to disregard the voters all the way around.
Piglosy and China Mitch so furious with Trump and want him impeached prior to a natural departure is just plain madness and speaks of some sort of fear within them. I hope that fear is the insurrection act and clamping down on these lawless creatures will expose them as the traitors and self serving crooks they are.
