So, is it finally OK to use the F-word?
One shouldn’t use the term “fascist” lightly. It isn’t a catchall for “people you disagree with.” It isn’t even a synonym for “bad political actors.” Mitch McConnell’s brand of politics has, in my view, greatly damaged America; but cynical legislative maneuvers aren’t the same thing as threatening and encouraging violence, and I wouldn’t call McConnell a fascist.
Donald Trump, however, is indeed a fascist — an authoritarian willing to use violence to achieve his racial nationalist goals. So are many of his supporters. If you had any doubts about that, Wednesday’s attack on Congress should have ended them.

Appeasement is what got us to where we are. It has to stop, now.
They are coming for you
Krugman, the Sacramento Bee, and the McClathchy newspapers: A three ball fgascistic combination.
The Communists labeled anyone who did not slavishly support them “fascists”. So a fascist is someone who doesn’t not openly support the Democrats
Just stepping back and observing their rhetoric is fascinating. They have all kinds of words (”appeasement”) and facile claims about “authoritarianism” under Trump. None of it is moored in reality. They just make stuff up. A good deal is projection, of course, but basically they are just tossing out wild claims to see what they can get to stick.
It’s disturbing that this stuff gets published and just gets absorbed by so many people who nod without thinking and simply say, “Orange Man Bad”.
“Donald Trump, however, is indeed a fascist — an authoritarian willing to use violence to achieve his racial nationalist goals.”
I haven’t seen any evidence of racial goals from President Trump. Nationalist? Sure. Violence from Trump? Not really. He could do that. He could have had the Capitol building destroyed had he wanted to. Paul Krugman is a good example of the problem.

Yet that’s precisely what the author does here. Nothing about Trump can be considered exceptionally fascistic. However, it’s clear Democrats, with their cals for violence and zest for using corporate partnerships to favor political outcomes fits the bill quite well.

You know, I was thinking the same exact thing of Biden, Harris and the entire Left as I was watching the riots this summer.
Quick, Someone tell Krugman that, due to the Covid lockdown, the local cinema has need of a projectionist.
Oh please. Paul Krugman, the ultimate drama Queen and propaganda mouth piece. AntiFa are the fascists here. No contest.
Fascism is an economic system where corporations are dominated by the state and, ultimately, serve the state. Aren’t Google, fakebook, Amazon, and Twitter serving the state? And why? Because they are dominated by the state who has threatened them with unfavorable legislation. This is the real fascism. Imho.
Oh, I’ll use the f-word all right.
Just not the one Krugman thinks. What a tool.
I read the article.
1) Krugman does not inhabit the same planet we are on.
2) He is clearly calling for a purge of the electorate.
3) He studiously avoids the 35 deaths and 3 billion dollars in property damage his side has done.
4) He is a liar, through and through.
5) I will not comply. I will not live in your world, Krugman.
One shouldn’t use the term “fascist” lightly.

And yet your side of the political aisle does it all the time.
Wow....again, calling a Party fascist while Big Tech shuts down opposition voices....
The Democrat Party right now is DEFINITELY some mix of Fascism/Corporatocracy, which is really strange because every definition you can find for Fascism begins with “a far-right-wing form of government”. Another odd observation, not many online definitions start the definitions of socialism or communism with “a far-left-wing form of government”.
So for everyone on the left screaming that Trump is a fascist, I guess it was just easier to formulate a strong central government coupled with Big Tech silencing opposition.....pretty much Fascism.
Fascism is not an “economic system”.
It is a variant of Georges Sorel’s socialism that favors the overthrow of capitalism by means of force.
Mussolini was expelled from the Socialist Party for advocating the use of military force which Marxist socialism opposes.
First Lenin then Hitler adapted fascism to justify armed revolution.
Fascism like the syndicalist socialism it grew out of aims for the overthrow of capitalism, therefore the idea that capitalists are fascist is idiocy.
I am sure “I Heart Radio” issued the same edict (Premiere is Rush’s syndicator as well as a number of other shows and is owned by I Hate Radio..
Fascism absolutely is an economic model. It is statism. Mussolini’s motto was “Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state”. The corporations were dominated by the state and existed to serve the state.
Our sides more likely to say Anti fascist.
