John Stuart Mill said that "No matter how good your constitution is, it's useless if the people won't back it up. It's like a horse without a rider", he says. "A republic", he affirms, "demands an active populace, without it we will not keep our freedom for very long", he says
This is why it's beautiful that Trump invited patriotic Americans to be active to show their support by going to Washington DC. The Secret Service estimated that between two to four million people already showed up in the District of Columbia to support the President and the Rule of Law.
What lies ahead may be hard but we're called to stand firm now to find our resolve. What has happened, has happened because we allowed it to happen. We had been too complacent, too trusting, too apathetic.
The Greek historian Thucydides (thoo-CIH-Did-eez) recounts the speech given to the Spartans during the Peloponnesian Wars, the internecine battles between the city-states of Athens and Sparta, reminding of the friction now between the political right and left. It may be repeating here.
"And how utterly unlike yourselves, they are revolutionary equally quick in the conception and the execution of every new plan."
"While you are conservative, careful only to keep what you have, originating nothing and not acting when action is most urgent."
"They are bold beyond their strength. They run risks which prudence would condemn. And in the midst of misfortune, they are full of hope; whereas it is your nature, though strong, to act feebly when your plans are most prudent to distrust them."
"And when calamities come upon you to think that you will never be delivered from them, they are impetuous and you are dilatory; they are always abroad and you are always at home. For they hope to gain something by leaving their homes; but you are afraid that any new enterprise may imperil what you have already."
"If a man should say of them, in a word, that they were born neither to have peace themselves nor allow peace to other men, he would simply speak the truth."
"In the face of such an enemy Spartans, you persist in doing nothing. You do not see that peace is best secured by those who use strength justly, but whose attitude shows that they have no intention of submitting to wrong. Justice with you seems to consist in giving no annoyance to others and in defending yourselves only against positive injury."
In settled times, the traditions of government should be observed but when circumstances are changing and men are compelled to meet them, much originality is required. Note the phrase "in settled times the traditions of government should be observed", but are these settled times?
Aren't we currently under medical martial law after the other side burnt down our cities, destroyed our statues, slandered our history, and changed the election integrity procedures to ensure an unbroken future of fake elections? Isn't the other side even threatening now more violence, more corruption, more re-education camps for those who don't submit to their new normal?
As Mike Pence sides with the Deep State, and engages in activism by absentia by ignoring his responsibility as President of the Senate and endorsing a fraudulent election, what will the way forward look like?
Buckle up, what's about to happen now is going to get really bumpy.
As the King said when they grabbed him to execute him during the French Revolution, "After me, the deluge." Thus began, what is now known to history as the Reign of Terror.
"After Trump, the deluge."
In this historical contrast presented by Daniel Natal, today's Trump Supporters are the Spartans, the forces under Biden are the Athenians. As Spartans were very strong militarily, they became smug and indifferent, above it all, not willing to engage over that which was beneath them. They had the strength but not the will to use it. They would not use their strength unless directly attacked. The Athenians attacked family related states of Sparta but Spartans couldn't be bothered unless directly attacked. This is the same reaction that Americans of history expressed, unwillingness to engage unless directly attacked.
Cultural Marxism does not attack directly in a way that can be discerned by American Spartans. It injects slow-acting poison into the American mindset aiming to weaken its resolve.
The following is but one member (David Atkins) of the DNC remarking on what must be done with 75 million Trump Supporters. But although it is only one publicly expressed remark, it is assuredly what these present day Athenians are thinking:
A great video. I remember years ago joining Free Republic, and it seemed that most public discourse was civil, academic, logical, reasonable...then as of late we bogged down in shouting, name calling. I watched a LIVE speech of Donald Trump and was disappointed at the wretched, demeaning, uncouth, cursing, vile, uneducated speech, expletives and horrible things. How can we understand each other when we totally lack respect for the other persons point of view? Now CHASE wants us to know that I must either BOW and accept the thought police, and NEVER allow people the right and priviledge to give a dissenting view, that they applaud Facebook and Twitters and the suPRESS. Number one guranteed right of a U.S. Citizen was in the 1st Amendement, I wonder why it was FIRST. Yes, I will close out my Chase and Citicard accounts...this week. Promise ya.
Thank you for posting
Then, once the leaders are gone, you repeat the process with the next group of previously subordinate leaders.
As the new government works its way down the list, the target group will become more and more compliant. Eventually, gulags will be effective...and productive for gathering intelligence on troublemakers.
A study of China since Mao and a fresh reading of The Gulag Archipelago will show you exactly how its done.
“How can we understand each other when we totally lack respect for the other persons point of view?”
You have respect for Satanic evil? That’s not advisable.
I stole this just this morning from Matt Braynard:
“In a nation such easy access to firearms of all kinds, what a remarkable ‘insurrection’ we had where none of the insurrectionists brought any.”
The point is well taken. But remember, the Spartans were the slaveholders. They were overthrown, in part, by the helot revolt.
75 million is just the number that voted for Trump.
Once we get rid of Spartacus...
Hell, we're about to be overthrown by a bunch of snotty nosed kids with purple hair, studs in their tongues and rings in nose...
It sure doesn't say much for us, does it..?
Meh, I think both History and God are gonna have a lot to say about the way things unfold.
I recall the gloom and doom around Zero in 2009. He had a SUPERMAJORITY in both houses. He did squat. Literally, no lasting legacy. Ocare has been gutted. Iran undone by Trump. In eight years, he did nothing. I believe God gave him a spirit of sloth, and laziness.
Just think of this: if Zero had had half of Trump’s energy, we wouldn’t even be on FR now.
Good point, and we can be thankful for it..
