UPDATE: @Citibank says it will “not support candidates who do not respect the rule of law” and will “pause contributions" to the GOP members who objected.
It is the fourth major corporation to take such a step.
Citibank has been tied to the communists forever ... can’t lose what you don’t get.
Pause contributions to the traitorous GOP? Excellent! Please do. #DefundtheGOP
OH THAT HAS TO BE FOR ANTIFIA AND BLM...
supported biden and they broke all kinds of election laws in multiple states - but no big deal huh?
I have my own, but it is a short one. Would be nice to see a complete one, including the offense to get on the list
Poor people suffer from the predatory behavior of banks, and tens of millions of Americans, Democrats and Republicans, pay exorbitant interest rates on credit cards, auto loans, and college loans.
Banks survived and credit was readily available for many years when state laws capped interest rates at 18%, and few banks could charge aggressive late fees.
So lets lead a bipartisan effort to make it illegal for banks to charge more than 12% interest. The banks will pretend that it will reduce the availability of credit but it won't because it will apply to every bank, and they still need to generate income to support their operations.
Let Citibank, its executives, and its shareholders learn to stay out of politics, and let us build a bridge to the poor people, leftists and Democrats who are being exploited by big banks.
PULL YOUR DEPOSITS FROM CITIBANK!
I’m in the banking business. Anyone who has accounts with them should start pulling money from them. Put it it with a small community bank. If the start losing enough deposits, they will change their tune. They need your money and deposits to survive, so please do this.!11
It’s hard to believe that the corporate elite are going through this much trouble to start a civil war.
Let’s use liberal logic if we are going to tell banks what they can charge for interest. You know, the same logic they apply to minimum wage?
Why cap them at 12%.
I think 4% sounds much better and look at all the folks it would help!
Cancelling the only citibank card we have today. It is a retail card and we always paid the balance - got good cash back rewards too, but every person should fight back however they see fit and its a small price to pay!
So, they’re going to drop support for all Democrats?
Back in the 1970s there were profitable banks that paid in the range of 5% for savings accounts and loaned money at 12%. So Citibank and all the others could live with reduced interest rates.
Capping interest rates would also provide a huge stimulus to the economy as consumers saw their monthly credit card, student loan, and car payments drop. Most mortgages would not be affected since they have rates below 10 or 12 percent already.
Check out my post just before yours. Why not start a movement to cut interest rates by law nationwide. It will force the Democrats to argue against something that their voter base will love.
Money in the bank, out
Investment/other funds, out.
Find any and all businesses that supported the coup...get out, stay out.
Will good people get hurt? Yes.
...war is hell.
There's a law about which candidates a bank must contribute to? News to me.
“The laws of physics have not been repealed. F still equals ma.”
Yes. Some laws are natural.
I don’t use Twitter or Facebook, but I have relatives who do. They are left wing and are probably happy that Trump has been banned and that bad things are happening to people who share opposite viewpoints. If I had money to bet with, I am sure they think what is happening to conservatives now will never happen to them.
Won’t do any good as the left controls most of the country’s institutions.
“There’s a law about which candidates a bank must contribute to? News to me.”
I understood this as they would not allow their banking business to be used, not they they would not contribute.
Those objections ARE “the rule of law” ... give me a break!
Seriously? There's a law about what candidates a corporation must contribute to?
