I remember during the election someone cancelled an event.

Trump pocketed the downpayment, and rerented the venue.

Breaking in to Congress was wrong. But the media knew immediately that it could be made all about Trump. So it’s all about Trump. I expect bad things to happen to Trump’s properties, and I don’t expect them to stop anytime soon.

Every golf course is a waste of a perfectly good rifle range.

There's a considerable difference between an business event and a PGA major tournament. There's the prestige and publicity involved for Trump's course, and the economic benefits that come from that. More importantly it's the beginning of the effort to trash the Trump brand and imply it's too toxic to be connected with. It's only going to get worse.

LOL.

I don’t know if Freepers know this, but the golf course in question — Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey — is located on the property that was formerly the sprawling estate of auto industry icon John DeLorean.

Hopefully conservatives will buy airtime and make commercial reminding viewers that pga blacklisted Trump.

Commercial after commercial reminding viewers/members that customers (HALF THE COUNTRY) will pull their support, especially when the pga is publicly shamed for caving to the mob. Corporate sponsors hate bad publicity and when these commercial during the tournament expose corporate sponsors, those guys will be scared and up-and-coming companies will be bitiing at their heels.

(I can dream, can’t I).

I always figured Trump's brand would take some kind of hit once he was out of office, but I also thought he'd be able to weather it. However all this blaming him with the riot at the Capitol allows it to begin earlier and an even higher level than I expected.

An economic study last year estimated the economic impact of the 2018 or 2019 PGA Championship to be around $100 million.

Between hotel room cancellations, loss of sales tax revenue, and even the loss of income taxes from the state’s ridiculously high tax rates on the competitors’ winnings, the biggest loser from this idiocy is going to be the State of New Jersey.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that state’s loser governor is on the phone right now, begging the PGA not to do this.

PGA will lose major money if they do.

I would like to see the agreement they made. If they dont honor that agreement, they will pay big time unless Trump feels charitable.

Old sporting events are getting just that, old.

Most have become as real as professional wrestling anyway...all pretty much controlled/manipulated by the same global money grubbers that control everything else.

Oh, and it's not just the young whippersnappers #walkingaway...

...many of us old geezers have found other/better venues/options for recreation/entertainment.

Get woke...Get lost...Good riddance.

Besides, TV Sports have made a small segment rich, while making a large segment stupid anyway.

So why not take Apollo Creed's advice..."be a thinker, not a stinker".

okay... I’ve been here for the 4 years Trump has been President. Rack my brain..and there is not one single thing Trump did wrong.

So why do they all hate him. couldn’t be the plan to take over the US..t they didn’t know.

the game where the first person whispers in the next person’s ear... and on down the line to the last person and what she/he heard was nothing like the first.

these people who form an opinion on another.. without knowing him... gossip.... opinion formed from idle ¹words. the media ripped Trump every day for 4 years...they never have him credit for all the good he did.

So they dont don’t know the man they hate
, and they don’t know why they hate...

If he is then he's pitching Pine Valley, Somerset Hills, Plainfield, or one of the other New Jersey course ranked in the Golf top 100. All he wants is to keep it in the state. And the PGA may be receptive.

At the rate things are going in New Jersey, the top pro golfers are probably pushing in the other direction and begging the PGA to move the event to a state with no income tax.

I used to do a lot of work for business leaders in NJ who were members of those top clubs. Some of them lived so close to Trump National that they’d get regular visits from the U.S. Secret Service whenever President Trump was in town for the weekend. The business dried up over the years because so many of them moved out of the state. It got to the point where I was receiving relocation announcements from them on a weekly basis.

The ones moving to Florida were retiring. The younger ones were going to North Carolina and taking their whole companies with them.

Professional golf is totally dependent on donors.

If the major sponsors tell them to jump they ask “How High?”

Whispering into the mic - Mini golf is more fun as it has windmills.

Don’t like they’re this petty against playing on Trump’s turf. Hope they lose their deposit.

I would think there are A LOT of conservative, Trump supporters that support and play golf. This won’t end well for them. Get woke, go broke.
