I am once again urging that President Trump be impeached and removed from office. We have a limited period of time in which to act. The nation cannot afford a drawn out process and I support bringing articles of impeachment directly to the House floor.

The President could outfox them easily. Resign on the day of the impeachment, just before the vote, and hand off to Pence, who’d have the shortest term in American history.
All Pres. Trump promised was a smooth transition, he didn’t say to whom.
They can’t impeach him if he isn’t the President, or prevent him from running again thereby.
Stops him from returning in 2024.
The President will stand trial in the Senate..........
Preparing his case will take about 2 weeks.

Yes, the House can impeach him, but there needs to be a trial in the Senate. Just like last time, just like with Clinton......the clock will run out before a trial can even start.
After the trial, the Senate votes guilty or not, then if guilty a President can be removed.
There just isn’t enough time. The President has a right to a trial and to mount a defense. Preparation will take a couple of weeks.
The impeachment is meaningless.
The big question is this - are there 17 republican senators that would vote to convict?
They cannot impeach Don Jr or even Eric. Either one of them would be a force just like dad.

The rush is this, If the senate votes to convict as part of the verdict they may stipulate that he can never again hold federal office.

After impeachment, a separate vote is taken on disqualification from office.
In the case of Alcee Hastings, no such vote took place, so he was not disqualified.
If Trump is impeached, they will bar him from any future office.
It is their wet dream.
The current senate is 47 dimrats or independents caucusing with rats. If your 7 rinos defect or abstain (likely) that gives the rats 54 votes. They need 67 to convict.
He knows things and has the power to release it is my guess
