California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Wednesday proposed providing $600 stimulus checks for low-income residents on top of the boost provided by the federal coronavirus relief package.
Newsom said in a statement that roughly 4 million Californians could receive the extra check, which, combined with the $600 they'd get from the federal stimulus package, would end up netting them $1,200 in relief. In the same announcement, the governor also proposed extending California's eviction moratorium, which is set to expire on Jan. 31.

Newsom made state workers take a huge pay cut, but kept his own salary. Took tens of millions of Paycheck Protection Program money for his own companies. Kept his own wineries open while every other business was forced to close their doors. Wined and dined his pals in a major event at a fancy restaurant while everyone else was under stay at home orders. Blew over $800 million in taxpayer funds to put homeless people into hotel rooms (which they’re destroying). And now he’s found even more money to hand out to the poor even as the middle class is squeezed out of existence.
What a tool.
I did not see anything in the article that defined low income. Surely the buisness owners that newsom has wrecked will not qualify. As a matter of fact, I bet those that recieve pay no income tax
He’s just trying to bribe voters so they won’t recall him. The signature gathering effort is heating up. They’ve got at least 60% of the number needed to impeach this clown, with a lot of time to go before the deadline.
In calipornia how far is that gonna go?

I haven’t heard anything about state workers taking a cut. When was this?
Back in May of last year. But no pay cuts for Newsom and his people.

Normally I’d be all for government workers taking some pay cuts, but not during an economic collapse when local businesses need that revenue. And not when the pay cut doesn’t apply to the people ordering the pay cut. Good enough for thee, but not for me!
