How the GOP lost control of Washington, and what comes next

Now that Democrats are poised to control the White House, Senate and House, the traditional game of finger-pointing and recrimination will begin inside the GOP.

The first instinct for politicians will be to assign blame, call names and jockey for position. But the 2020 election wasn't just an election, it was a political watershed in which the rules and strategy for winning were rewritten.

The November election (and Tuesday’s Georgia curtain call) wasn't won and lost by the tactics, spending, individual players and messaging in the weeks before Nov. 3, according to interviews conducted with more than three dozen frontline players.

While it would be difficult, maybe not impossible, to start a viable 3rd party, I'm OK if the GOP pulls the plug on itself and goes away forever. Not a single elected official from my state (Sasse, Fischer, Bacon, Fortenberry) is worth a squirt of warm urine, especially Sasse and Bacon. Very few national GOP politicians are worthy of support from anyone who believes in the principles which guided the men who founded America. Maybe a couple, maybe a few, but the rest talk out of both sides of their mouths, and even more so when election day approaches. Then it's back to Job #1, getting re-elected.

The GOP lost nothing, the American Voter gave away their demise to the Dems.

When did the GOP have “control” of Washington anyway?

I estimate that small government conservatives are 25% of the consistent voting public [19% voted Perot in 1992, DESPITE all the Media-Uniparty-Deep State dirty tricks, which President Trump has shown us to be real things].

Wait'll the Repukes get a load of the Woke Twenty Five Percent.

I would guess that even a RepubliGimp who got 60% might not be safe if the Woke 25%ers coordinated the bayonetting really well.

Why? We have to stop with the conventional wisdom BS. We need to just do it. The faster it happens the better off we'll be.

Four people are dead, one shot, 3 by medical emergencies after being shoved around by police , without cause.
But you’ll hear nothing in the news, Meanwhile thousands looted and committed arson without ANY gun barrels leveled at them in Minneapolis and Seattle.

They were unarmed at the Capitol and simply going into the People’s House. No acts of looting or arson were committed like in Mineapolis and Portland. The Pearl Clutchers, particularly in the Republican Party, were almost dying of apoplexy because the supposedly sacred precincts of Congress used to attempt a usurpation of the President for 4 long years were invaded while the precincts of Minneapolis and Seattle are defined as less sacred? A line was crossed? Buahahahahahahahaha!

Democrat lefty srson, and lootimg violence OK, Republican protest BAD!Shoot the Republicans?

What a laugh? The Democrats CAUSED THIS. But the Republicans are clutching their pearls instead of fighting back.

The pearl clutchers are so upset over the fact that Republicans became slightly “violent” after 4 years of the Swamp trying to usurp a duly elected president of the United States.

This isn’t over.

Ashli Babbit was shot by an elderly man in a suit, it was video taped. Yet the man remains unidentified? Murder was committed against an unarmed woman squeezing through a barrier in a hallway.

This is not over.

Rather than waste time firing current GOP crowd....I’d just assemble groups in individual counties/cities and build up a ‘TEA-Party’ like device, without specialists, high-cost dimwit-experts, or PR people.

Next round of primary runs is March-April 2022. If you can convince 60-odd percent of normal Republican voters to vacate that primary and send the first signal that GOPers are unelectable, it’s a start. Then come November 2022....bring home around fifteen of the Republican Senators.

I can hear the narrative in 2 years... “Moderate voters that were disgusted by Trump’s Presidency, his behavior, and his extremist supporters storming the Capitol in 2021, have moved to the Dem party.” While the knob on the Dominion voting system is turned from 1.4 to 2.8.

The GOP is nothing but the swamp in red. They do not fight for us, they do not care about us, heck, they don’t even like us.

We are now (probably have been for a while) under one party rule. The socialists/communists will solidify their power, destroy their enemies (any opposition, the middle class).

Starting a new party would basically involve leaving the current officeholders in place, with the voters moving to a new party. Taking over the existing Republican party requires a purge of existing office holders, including party officials.

A review of the history related to the Federalist and Whig parties leads me to believe that Trump voters are better off starting a 3rd party. Eventually the RINO Swampers will be far in the rearview window. We've tried working with Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney and John McCain. It's time for Plan B.

We were under one party rule until Trump became President! He woke many of the American up to what was going on in this country. If he did not come President, the transition to socialism would not be so apparent. Thank you President Trump for waking 73 + million people to what was and is occurring.

For the GOP to survive they need to clean house. Every deep state, establishment type has to go. No one with more than 10 years of experience in government should be in a leadership position in the GOP. They are too close to the problem and have become the problem. Fill the party leadership ranks by randomly selecting people from the phone book in red states. The party would thrive.

If we lose the 2A, I think the GOP will be done for. They have used that issue to keep us coming back to them for too long, always telling us how we need to vote Republican to protect the 2A but never really doing anything to advance 2A rights. We who cherish the 2A were used and likely mocked behind close doors. If I lose 2A rights over this debacle, I won’t be voting for any Republicans for a while. Why
would I? So they can give millionaires more tax breaks? No. Maybe they need a taste of communism.

IIRC, the demise of the Whigs started the Republican party.

Why couldn't the demise of the Republican party start the 'American Revolutionary' party or something similar?
