Non-violent civil disobedience works if you are fighting something like the British Empire of the 1940’s or 1950’s, or a United States of the 1950’s-70’s. It can even work against a collapsing ancient, worn out Soviet Union that is falling anyway.
But non-violence does not work against an ascendant tyranny, an ascendant Leftist, violent tyranny. If you are fighting such a thing as that, you need to be very, very violent indeed.

There are a lot of people who seem to agree with you on that, here on Free Republic, on Parler (which is slammed today; it's a coin flip as to whether a page will finish loading) and in the DC protest crowd.
One brief interview I read had a woman who stated she came to hear the President speak, believing he was going to announce a bunch of arrest warrants. She seemed very confused when he just repeated the same election rhetoric he's been giving for weeks and didn't unleash "The Storm".
I'm kinda confused myself, frankly. Many (but not all) Freepers have been screaming for armed insurrection since November 4th, right down to describing how they are going to hunt down and kill their Democrat neighbors and their families. Yet some protesters break into the Capitol and suddenly everyone insists they have to be antifa agitators trying to get conservatives killed.
Perhaps the most interesting thing I've seen today is reports of people stealing "hard drives" from congressional offices. It will be interesting to see what shows up as a result of that. If they (the GSA, most likely) are using BitLocker it won't matter. If not...

We have to respect our great people in law and order - who are protecting those who spit on law and order, and stole the election from us.
Citizens must respect law and order, while those in power have the right to ignore it.

Bottom line: Seems as if Trump wants his cake and wants to eat it too. He asks citizens to show up to support him (great optics) and he tells them to march to the capitol; however, he doesn’t actually want them to take any action to reclaim the Republic because there is really nothing they can do. Thanks for waving your flags...now go home.

Oh but he can! Imagine Trump going state to state campaigning for a Convention of States. Imagine him offering to chair it if it is convened. He would become more powerful than any President since Washington who chaired the first Convention.
I just find it hard to believe and incredibly aggravating that Trump didn’t have some kind of a plan for today besides effectively just having another rally. What’s happening doesn’t surprise me or disappoint me at all. The country and freedom has been stolen. Akin to being invaded by a foreign country. I expected more from Trump today. Much more.
