McConnell's efforts to block $2,000 stimulus checks hurt the GOP in Georgia — and may have cost it the Senate

The Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock early Wednesday were projected to win both US Senate seats in Georgia, handing overall government control to the Democratic Party.

One of the pivotal issues in the Georgia campaigns was the prospect of $2,000 COVID-19 stimulus checks, which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked.

Even though both GOP candidates in Georgia backed $2,000 checks, the party was divided. This allowed Democrats to campaign effectively as the party of $2,000 checks and could've helped them carry the day.

Even though both GOP candidates in Georgia backed $2,000 checks, the REPUBLICAN Senate leadership never gave them an opportunity to vote on it. This was a political clusterflock all around.

If the voters will sell America out for a mere $2000, then America is ready on her death bed.

As I’ve said for decades, in a democracy you not only get the government you want. You get the government you deserve.

i.e., in our current situation, the best case scenario is this is due to massive voter fraud. The worst case scenario is that this really does reflect the voters’ choices.

If the latter, the only solution is to pray and ammo up.

I posted this earlier on another thread.....

As a Georgia voter, here is my Post Mortem (which is the same as my Pre Mortem).

First the basics...Republican outreach and canvassing was good.....voters called and texted to death.....Terrible execution of yard signs.....I had made several requests starting November 4th, finally went to a rally where they handed them out... Warnock/Ossoff signs in my predominate Republican area outnumbered Loeffler/Perdue signs by 3 to 1 on major and secondary street corners......

Republican ads were terrible, few reasons cited on why to vote for the Republican candidate, the bulk was how horrible the other candidate was.....

The BS regarding ads and people advocating Republicans stay home and not vote (Lincoln Project/Woods et al) had no impact and was just noise......

Stacy Abrahms did a great job in registering new voters and getting out their vote.....Separate from the great ballot stuffing effort from the “Mail-In” ballots......

But most importantly was young white suburban couples and some of the elderly because of the following:

Mitch McConnell lost this election...... His stalwart opposition to the $2K/person COVID stimulus killed Republican chances..... When you pass an Omnibus bill with such huge amounts of pork going to foreign countries but ignore the US People, this is what you get.....

McConnell didn’t have a principled stand, principled would have been to block the bill. Instead, he appeared to ignore the American citizen in favor of special interests.

For example: What if the Pakistani Gender Studies money instead went to St. Judes Hospital for children’s cancer research?

He pits himself against Trump, now he is the minority leader and a complete failure as a Senator.

Perdue and Loeffler didn’t stand a chance even with supporting the president positions .....They were seen as part of McConnell’s group so by association, part of the problem.....

Obviously, that doesn’t mean that the Demoncrats are the correct solution but by appearing responsive they were able to peel off enough Republican-leaning independents.....

We need to Primary the bulk of our leadership at the next election and get new blood in the Senate and House nationwide. Get rid of McConnell at all costs.....

The Turtle has got to go.....

“ RESIST SOCIALISM!”

I am not worried about socialism. I’m worried about globalism - ie sending industry overseas and importing cheap labor at hone Trump ran against globalism in 2016. He Never mentioned socialism - just the opposite, he promised more federal spending on infrastructure and health care.

In 2000, he somehow switched to campaigning against “socialism” - the way McCain and Romney did in their pre-Trump presidential campaigns. As with their campaigns, it didn’t work out well.

No, it was not the $2K checks, that is a red herring. The fact that the GOP leadership conspired with the leftists to remove President Trump by election fraud was obvious and many Trump voters who voted in November stayed home and said “F*** You!” That with this second round of vote fraud cost us the Senate.

And to all the Freepers who carry a torch for Mitch McConnell and his band of well paid surrender-monkeys, I have nothing but disdain for you. Republican Governor Kemp, the epitome of GOPe duplicity, did nothing to prevent the second round of fraud and Republican observers were again prevented from observing the ballot counting process. The Republican Party has done nothing to protect Americans from the leftists, they infest our schools, our courts, and comprise most of the government bureaucracy and feast off our tax dollars.

It is time to wrest control of the GOP from the Bush Crime Family or to form a new party.

You know that, I know that, but if you’re just scraping by, I’m guessing you just don’t care. Maybe even hope that some “rich guys” are taken down in the process. We know that the rich buffer themselves, but many don’t.

The Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock early Wednesday were projected to win both US Senate seats in Georgia, handing overall government control to the Democratic Party.

Maybe they are projected to win because the same Dominion voting machines were used, with a predictable repeat of November.

Perdue was ahead by about 130,000 votes, Loeffler was ahead by about 84,000 votes. The vote mysteriously stalled when 95% of the vote was in. Then the Dem counties began to seep votes until the Dems squeaked ahead.

This looks suspicious to me. I do not understand why the Dominion voting machines were allowed to be used. The evidence and charges were serious, but ignored for the run off election?

Get rid of McConnell at all costs.

There’s the problem right there. McConnell was just re-elected to another six-year term.

Satan rules this planet and our only hope is that Christ returns soon. There as so many evil people who want to worship them in order to get a check from the government. I know that the won by many fraudulent votes but still many people were so stupid and greedy that they sold themselves and their children and grandchildren into slavery because they expect to be “taken care of” by a dem government. They are just useful idiots who will eventually get whats coming to them and it won’t be what they are expecting.

Who set up the $2,000 trap? When Trump proposed it, Mitch should have said yes. Trump’s proposed $2k left the GOP defenseless and he knew it. This move was very similar to Trump’s gambit on health care when he endorsed keeping the ban on preexisitng conditions clauses.

Mitch was correct in fighting the $2,000 on principal but probably did so more to spite Trump than anything else.

Just remember Trump is not a Republican or a conservative though he did a better job than either.

What did Mitch do to help us on that? He is opposing any challenges to ballot fraud, right?
