Kim Jong Un admitted Wednesday that his five-year economic plan failed “tremendously” on nearly every front, state media reported.
The North Korean leader made the comments at a rare days-long Workers’ Party gathering, which was last hosted in 2016 when he first set forth the plan.
“The strategy was due last year but it tremendously fell short of goals on almost every sector,” Kim said in opening remarks to the congress, according to KCNA.

You’d think that anyone, with even the slightest knowledge of history, would not model his economic plan after the Communist “Five Year Plan” economic model. If nothing else, a “Ten Year Plan” or even a “Twenty Year Plan” would provide enough of a gap between plan and result that many would forget the details of the plan before it’s time to reap the consequences. Communism (and its twin, Socialism) has always failed, and will always fail. It’s just too bad that liberals always forget this, or never even learn it.
