The leader of the Proud Boys activist group has been arrested on misdemeanor destruction of property charges relating to the burning of a Black Lives Matter flag from a historic black church during protests in December. Enrique Tarrio, chairman of the group, was also charged with possessing a high-capacity feeding device after police found two clips of ammunition in his possession. Tarrio could receive up to 180 days in prison and be fined $1,000. The prosecutors may be hesitating in charging Tarrio with a hate crime because Mr. Tarrio happens to be black (he “identifies” as Afro-Cuban). Charging a black man with a hate crime against blacks would be ludicrous.

It’s ok to burn a flag if it’s your flag. It’s illegal to take someone else’s flag and burn it.
The act of burning the flag = protected speech.

OK, but how about burning down private businesses and assaulting customers at a restaurant? Seems that should be illegal, too. Why aren’t those criminals in jail? If I had to guess, I’d say cops are cowards who care only about themselves and their pensions.
To wit, when you see a police vehicle with the words “To serve and protect” on the sides, it’s to serve and protect the government, themselves, their jobs and their pensions. Not you. Not me. Not the citizenry. We are on our own. Nobody is coming to save us.
