‘The 2020 Election is Over’: Top GOP Senators Reject Ted Cruz-Led Plan to Challenge Electoral College

A number of prominent Republicans have spoken out in opposition to the plan, spearheaded by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), to object to Joe Biden electors from the 2020 battleground states being contested by President Donald Trump.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) was first to announce he would object to Biden electors in Pennsylvania. Cruz and 11 other Republican senators followed suit, announcing they would object to electors in every battleground.

The senators are not claiming, like Trump, that the election was rigged, but simply that there are enough allegations of fraud from the losing candidate to justify objecting to the results. They are demanding that an election commission be appointed to “audit” the results in “disputed” states (i.e. that swing states Trump lost most narrowly.)

But a growing faction of top Republicans is speaking out against those objectors. In the Senate the list those objecting to the objectors is 20-strong, and includes Lindsey Graham (SC), Tom Cotton (AR), Roy Blunt (MO), Richard Burr (NC), Shelly Moore Capito (WV), Bill Cassidy (LA), Mike Lee (UT), Susan Collins (ME), Rob Portman (OH), John Cornyn (TX), Lisa Murkowski (AL), Mitt Romney (UT), Ben Sasse (NE), Richard Shelby (AL), John Thune (SD), Pat Toomey (PA), Roger Wicker (MS), Deb Fischer (NE), Chuck Grassley (IA), Mitch McConnell (KY) and Mike Rounds (SD).

A number of those senators, including Romney, issued a bipartisan statement declaring “The 2020 election is over.”

Those that object will be heroes to the conservatives and tea partiers. Those that side with the steal will be pushed out in the primaries and hopefully replaced.

What is REALLY obvious is that the GOP “top leaders” fear the MSM more than they fear the base or conservatives. That needs to change.

They would give RINOs a bad name. These are spineless cowards to will continue to live their parasitic lives in comfort while the rest of the country is reduced to becoming Subjects and Serfs to be continually abused by the Ruling Class Elites.

GOP is DOA. I am looking for a new home. I don’t care that you lose, just grow a pair and go down swinging. THAT is why we have political parties...to fight for principles. Roll over like Caspar Milquetoaste on quaaludes. Why would I want to follow something like that?

Nobody in the GOP Senate raised an objection until 2 months later. None of them want to fight for 75 million disenfranchised GOP voters to the benefit of Donald J. Trump. Period.

Doesn’t matter if 20 object, or 99. It just takes 1 Senator and 1 Congressman.

At the end of the day, on January 6, all those congressmen and senators who oppose the electors will have gone on record. They will take the perfunctory two hour break to discuss it in chambers. At the end of two hours a majority of congressmen and senators, from both parties will certify the votes and select Joe Biden as president.

I will bet money on this. Any takers?

Even if they don’t vote for the truth it will eventually come out. Biden will go down in history as a fraud who stole the election.

More than ten years they spent exclusively on failing to repeal obamacare. That’s it. Nothing else. This group is not part of any political solutions and never will be.

Maybe true, but that does not make it right.

Yes, but it takes 51 Senators and 218 Representatives to overturn the state-certified slate of Electors. For each state.

It doesn’t matter how many states are challenged, or by how many, if those slates are not rejected by a majority. Do you seriously think that the Rat-controlled House is going to vote that way? How about the traitor-infested Republican Senate?

At this point, there are two and only two options that result in Trump continuing on as President after January 20: first, having sufficient slates de-certified by their own state legislatures - before Monday; and second, Trump invoking the Insurrection Act and arresting hundreds or thousands of Dems and their collaborators in the media.

I would advise all of those fine Senators to reconsider their comments and future options!
