Dr Anthony Fauci has cautioned that early COVID-19 vaccines will be focused on preventing symptoms of the virus, not blocking it altogether.

Fauci, the nation's leading expert on infectious diseases, made the point on Monday as at least four vaccine candidates near the end of clinical trials and the US reported a record number of new cases in the last week.

While the end goal of the vaccines will be to eradicate the virus, Fauci noted that developers are aiming for a simpler goal in the first round of jabs.

'The primary thing you want to do is that if people get infected, prevent them from getting sick, and if you prevent them from getting sick, you will ultimately prevent them from getting seriously ill,' Fauci said at Yahoo Finance's All Markets Summit.

'If the vaccine also allows you to prevent initial infection, that would be great. [But] what I would settle for, and all of my colleagues would settle for, is the primary endpoint to prevent clinically recognizable disease.'

Makes stocking up on Ivermectin and doing the “therapy” make more sense.

Started doing the deal yesterday - I can tell they lie when they claim the horse Ivermectin is “apple flavored” - but it ain’t terrible either.

Purposely took a dose for 250 lbs to check on reactions and nothing untoward happened - will do 2nd dose for 200 lbs tomorrow and then be on a monthly regimen for a couple months anyway.

I totally agree that Operation Warp Speed is a great success that Biden or Hillary would never have come close to. I am in the Moderna trial, don’t know if I got the vaccine or placebo, but did have a sore arm for a few days after the first shot. This week I had my first known exposure to someone with COVID who came to our house Tuesday and told us on Thursday she just tested positive. My wife was traveling to her father’s funeral in another state when she found out (I have a broken leg and can’t travel, essentially self quarantined anyway). Our visitor was wearing a mask when she came in and was less than 15 minutes in the house, but very close to my wife so she is trying her best to limit contact with others until she can get a meaningful test (we’re told 5 to 7 days).

I was told 12 mg per day for 5 days if you have any symptoms

Dosage is supposed to be 0.09mg/lb - but that’s with the single dose or day 1 and 3 doses.
For 200 lbs, the dosage would be 18mg so I would guess the 12 mg dosage is for 133 lbs or so unless the objective is to use a bit less per dose to build up a higher level over the 5 days because it persists in the system.

Someone posted a image that suggested the following (one for prevention and the other in case one had symptoms and wanted to use it as treatment:

I suppose the initial higher doses of this set up and the 5 lower doses of what you heard may have different strategies in mind - I wonder if either way has been shown to be more effective - I imagine that if it was doing the job of stopping replication, then the lower dose over 5 days as a treatment might be more effective, but since I’m using it as a preventative, I’ll do the weight-based doses with lower frequency.

Thanks for posting that perspective - always nice to have reasonable options.
