Unlike cabinet positions, I don’t think the VP needs the approval of Congress. It’s the President’s choice.

Is Lin Wood simply a provocateur...?
If you dig through the thread that Wood is referring to, it ultimately points back to an article about Pence trying to get a judge to through out Gohmert’s suit.
That is what Wood is referring to..ie: “if Pence tries to throw out Gohmert’s suit, his career in politics is over”.
Not sure I’d necessarily agree with that, but regardless, Pence did NOT say he is done with politics on New Year’s eve. Good grief.
I used to have a lot of respect for Lin Wood, but he’s gone totally bat shit crazy with some of his tweets as of late.
Only a damned fool would believe that ANY Republican could win in 2024 if the steal is allowed to stand.

He’s a good guy, but would never be able to stir up as much as enthusiasm as Trump.

I was curious, so I looked it up. A presidential candidate is, of course, free to choose his own running mate. But it takes Congressional approval to replace a sitting VP.
What surprised me was that approval of both Houses of Congress is needed in that case. It’s not like with, say, a cabinet position. Only the Senate’s approval is needed there.
It is not a story it’s just Wood being obnoxious.

Wood is being sarcastic and I will take Pence over that nut any day.
So did Boehner, Cantor and Ryan. Pence is an old school GOPe conservative controlled opposition stooge. Don’t be duped by his alleged piousness. He’s a mainline establishment Republican. They all want Trump gone and that is what Pence is doing.
I agree that those are the two possibilities and he sees both as a no-win situation, so he’s going home.
Given that he’s not a man of courage nor a fighter, I think he’s going to do B, but I hope I’m wrong...
Also if he chose A he would be a hero of conservative and he would have a bright future in the party, but the left will make his life very miserable. If he goes with B, he’ll be looked at as a cowardly traitor by us on the right, but because we are “nicer and better than them” we won’t be making his life miserable, and soon we’ll forget.
He’ll go with the path of least resistance and least abuse, which is B.
