A group of anti-cop protesters attacked Minneapolis police officers following an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night. Officers reportedly shot an armed man who fired at them first, Minneapolis police officials stated.
A tweet by Minneapolis Star-Tribune reporter Kim Hyatt revealed that police came under attack from a group of protesters. The group of more than 100 protesters reportedly threw bricks and ice balls at the officers. The incident followed an officer-involved shooting that left a felony suspect dead.
Protesters gathered Wednesday night after an officer-involved shooting earlier in the evening.
Minneapolis police officers shot and killed a man in an exchange of gunfire shortly after 6 p.m. after officers initiated a traffic stop on a felony crime suspect, Fox9 reported. The suspect fired first at police officers before they returned fire, the police chief said in a news conference.
The Star-Tribune reports witness statements at the scene indicate the suspect fired first at the officers who stopped him. The article states a bullet hole is visible in one of the police cars.
The police chief said the officers wore body cams and he would try to release the videos on Thursday. He pleaded with protesters to remain peaceful.

Disband the police, let those animals live like animals. And to those good folks of Minneapolis, you get what you vote for.
They should arrest the editor of the paper whose headline read “police shoot man at traffic stop”
Did they even bother to mention that the dead suspect shot at the police first?
Somehow, I don’t think it was the ‘good folks’ that voted for this crap..................
Billy clubs and pepper spray for the “protesters” from New Somalia. Order needs to be restored or we will lose another city to the mob.
“Somehow, I don’t think it was the ‘good folks’ that voted for this crap..................”
I disagree. My wife is from Minneapolis. They may not have wanted this result, but they are so painfully liberal, they can’t bring themselves to vote any other way.
Somebody throws a brick at an officer- shoot him. That is self-defense. If somebody else throws another brick, shoot him, too. bricks are deadly weapons. If the criminal that is being apprehended throws a brick at a cop, especially if he has another brick to hand, he will be shot as the cop protects his own life.
“...you get what you vote for.”
I’m not too sure we can say that anymore. I wouldn’t bet on honest elections anywhere in the US. The people behind the 2020 fraud weren’t first-time amateurs.
“Order needs to be restored or we will lose another city to the mob.”
Too late.
Yes, I don’t wish ill on the remaining normals in Minneapolis (after all, I live in NJ) but there is no longer any reason to pretend that a growing segment in this country has no place in a modern Western country. I especially support pulling police out of any place where people don’t pay for them.
For the life of me I don’t understand why anyone wants to live in a city; the suburbs in my area are cheaper and safer (though becoming more urbanized through sprawl), and people are once again looking at far-flung rural areas if their work permits them to live (and raise families) many miles behind the front lines of our low-profile civil war.
Lutherans?.................
It won't make any difference. These people want to riot, loot burn and pillage. Truth is irrelevant to them................
The violence is allowed and encouraged to create a crisis and as a threat for the election steal. Let them steal the presidency and give them hundred of millions in payouts or else ...
When they throw a brick, they should be shot dead. It’s the only way this bull crap stops. We need a Kent State.
No mention of race of the perp. Interesting.
“Did they even bother to mention that the dead suspect shot at the police first?”
Keeping the peace is your job, Chief. You don't need to plead with them.
I could see Minneapolis forcing residents to rotate into its police department ranks like jury duty. Law Enforcement in these cities isn’t a job - it’s a punishment. Paid, yes, but still a punishment.
Not worth getting out the car if you’re a cop, cruise on by and try to collect your pension. That’s what the citizens of Minneapolis seem to want, so why risk your life for a bunch of liberals and gang bangers?
