SHREVEPORT, La. — Congressman-elect Luke Letlow has died after contracting COVID-19 last week, according to his campaign manager Andrew Bautsch.
Letlow, who just turned 41, was getting treatment in the intensive care unit in Shreveport, according to an announcement on his Twitter page last week.

He looks like he’s in shape. Why are you trying to demonize him?
Hard to believe. Look at CDC data (covid deaths and number of positive cases). If you are under 50, you have a greater than 99.8% chance of surviving COVID.
Are you letting Covid turn you into a leftist? I know nothing about this person, but I’m surprised by the number of Freepers who will cancel someone and bash them with no info.
Uh....Swine Flu AKA Spanish Flu?
We have many therapeutics now there is NO REASON for ICU’s to be on overload!!!
So you actually put 100% faith in government numbers?
An article from the New Orleans newspaper was linked in an earlier post. His attending physician said that he had no underlying health problems. That would have come from his medical records.
(His doctor) “Ghali previously said Letlow was being treated with the antiviral drug Remdesivir and steroids. Asked if Letlow had any underlying conditions that would have made his death more likely, Ghali said in a text message, “none. All COVID related.”
Name an aged Democrat who has gotten a serious case of Covid? Pelosi? Reid? Schumer? Hillary? Bubba? The ones who should be most vulnerable are laughing their way through this. Not wearing masks, by the way.
Yes true I get your point but he was referring to the modern day regular flu.
“ Read somewhere that more people who wore masks died from Chinese than people who did not wear masks “
I read somewhere that the Sandy Hook parents were actors lying about their dead kids.
Ok dammit! I want to know what the deal is why this man was not given Hydroxychloroquine+ or Ivermectin which would have 100% have saved his life!!!
24 hour rule
For the state of Louisiana, here are the fatalities by Underlying Conditions (Last updated 12/23/2020)
Asthma-4.09%
Cancer-8.71%
Cardiac Disease-26.54%
Chronic Kidney Disease-22.22%
Congestive Heart Failure-16.8%
Diabetes-37.29%
Hypertension-63.99%
Neurological-27.38%
Obesity-20.75%
Pulmonary-14.53%
None-4.2%
I don't have the LA fatality data by age - though the median age in that state is 77. Nationally, 15.1% of all cases but 2.9% of all COVID19 fatalities were from people between 40-49 years of age, for a Case Fatality Rate of 0.32% for that lot vs 1.66% for the US.
So, is it impossible for the young to die from this bug? Heck no. Is there NEVER any underlying condition? Nope.
But data are data and facts are facts, and a relatively small proportion of young people die from this thing AND an almost equally small fraction of people die without an underlying condition.
You nailed that one.
Don’t you hate it when your waving your proverbial hands to flag everyone about pertinent info and you’re still ignored?
I hate that.
Thanks for the info.
There is no evidence that this guy died from anything other than COVID, but his death is a rare case by government numbers. Do you believe COVID death is more common than 1 in 1000? Or less? What is your number and what is the basis for that number?
Heart Attack !
Asked if Letlow had any underlying conditions that would have made his death more likely, Ghali said in a text message, "none. All COVID related."
So he died of a myocardial infarct and we won’t know if it is actually covid related until the autopsy? Covid would be considered a strong contributing factor regardless.
It’s curious that covid was never considered a strong factor in the death of George Floyd?
Sad for his family...
