Nancy Pelosi: Georgia Senate Victories Would Give Democrats Supermajority-Like Ability to Pass Legislation
Breitbart ^ | DE. 27, 2020 | SEAN MORAN

Posted on 12/27/2020 7:35:03 PM PST by BlackFemaleArmyColonel

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said during a virtual Sojourner Truth Project event last week that ousting Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA) will give them significant power to pass legislation because they can pass bills with a simple majority in the Senate using reconciliation.

Pelosi spoke virtually at the Sojourner Truth Project on December 22 via Zoom. During the event, she discussed how Georgia Senate Democrat candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock’s potential victories would give Democrats significant power to pass legislation in Congress. She compared their Democrats’ potential power to having essentially 60 votes in the Senate.

“One more thing, because you know how I’m about numbers, when we win these two seats, plus Kamala Harris breaking the tie, it’ll be like getting 60 votes because once we have even the simple majority, we can vote for reconciliation, which means that you only need 51 votes to pass certain legislation,” Pelosi said.

The Senate typically needs 60 votes to pass legislation through the chamber; however, some bills in the Senate can pass with a simple majority through budgetary reconciliation. Reconciliation allows Congress to pass bills affecting spending, revenue, or deficit levels.

Republicans used reconciliation to pass the Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and they tried to use reconciliation during their failed attempt to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Democrats could use reconciliation to pass bills at a similar scale the tax cuts bill or the ACA repeal bills.

Pelosi noted that having Ossoff and Warnock win in January would make Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), the vice president-elect, the Senate’s tiebreaking vote. This would allow for congressional Democrats to pass leftist legislation through Congress with only a simple majority.

You might want to look into the 1998 SC decision where they ruled redlining illegal. So the red lines don’t mean jack. All that matters is he signed Nancy pork bill.

I am not sure what to make of him. On Parler he is touting get out and vote. But then says Perdue and Loffler to not deserve to win because they did not support Trump. I am not sure what his game is. He made some interesting comments about a Dominion lawsuit being a gift. He said they would demand emails during discovery that would be very bad for Dominion. Again I am not sure what he is up to. Is he a fox in the hen house or a legitimate friend of Trump's?

Not exactly:
‘ (b) Requirement to make available for obligation
Any amount of budget authority proposed to be rescinded or that is to be reserved as set forth in such special message shall be made available for obligation unless, within the prescribed 45-day period, the Congress has completed action on a rescission bill rescinding all or part of the amount proposed to be rescinded or that is to be reserved. Funds made available for obligation under this procedure may not be proposed for rescission again.“

I do not believe he redlined it exactly. The phrase redlined was used but he also referred to the Impound Act of 1974 which means rescission, he sent it back to Congress to fix, but only if they really want to. It’s all smoke and mirrors for the unwashed masses. Angry and disappointed Trump acted in such a swampy way. He is being very disingenuous which is even more disappointing.

. We must have some patriotic, right=thinking IT people who love America. Could the teams of such people design a electronic system that is HACK PROOF or close to it and then have the States use those machines and nothing else would be legal.

Of course we can. Well, CLOSE to hackproof. It's call Blockchain.

However, no way in Hell the Dems would allow us to implement it. They LIKE a system that allows for, even encourages, cheating.

If he signed it, it is the law. Congress does not have to do a damn thing. In 45 days the money gets spent.

Senile BiteMe will sign anything Schumer puts in front of him, and Kalamaty Harris will be brought up short and reminded who is in in charge.

Obama's the one who orchestrated all of this.

I believe he's been in DC (three miles from the White House all this time) for a reason.

I bet he's the director behind all the Hamstringing of the Trump administration: Russia, Russia, Russia / Media hatred coordination / Impeachment.

Laz, my first reply from you, and it is very disappointing.

You and I are not alone. Don’t we have millions who can affect a plan like this?

I guess not.

Lin Wood is saying that if enough people boycott the GA run-offs, then when they use the Dominion algorithm, the final vote tally will have NEGATIVE votes showing for the republican.

The only uncertainty is turnout. This is why Trump won in 2016 — because they UNDER-estimated the number of people who voted for Trump. Ditto for 2020 — that’s why they had to stop the counting and recalibrate the machines.

Lin Wood is saying that if enough people boycott the run-off, then the Dominion algorithm will have greatly OVER-estimated turnout. If that is the case, then when the algorithm is applied, it will flip too many votes and you will get negative votes for the Republican. This is what he means by exposing the fraud.

That's because, in computers it is impossible to check for a negative number and put out 0 instead. Also, IT people never think about things like this.

Shaking my damn head.

If there is ever another confederation of states declaring fidelity to constitutional originalism, these people should be arrested, tried and jailed.

A leftist super majority like ability to pass legislation will be a disaster for our country.

Obozo missed his chance when elected. He had the WH, Senate and House with a liberal leaning SCOTUS. He was successful in nationalizing a huge portion of the economy in healthcare and satellite/supporting entities.

He was so caught up in this, he failed to crush our 1st and 2nd amendments. He tried non-legislatively by drying up ammo supplies, fast and furious was an attempt to blame legal gun dealers for supplying weapons to cartels, thereby forcing closures and strong arming credit entities to deny legal gun businesses capital. Parallel attempt to pressure for regulation/policy to allow crippling lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

The leftist won’t be so negligent this go around. If they gain power of the Senate, the leftist will go full bore.
