I consider myself one of the realistic FReepers (I don’t believe in ‘krakens’ unless I see them myself), but at this point I will make this the last post on politics until the 20th. I will try the ‘hope’ approach many on FR are leaning on, and hope that some miracle happens.
I know it’s a silly path - there’s no Kraken, and even if there was it would never be accepted, I believe Lin Wood is a DS plant based on what he’s said about VP Pence and his recommendation that Conservatives need not vote in Georgia, I think Powell is nuts, I have said for over a month Giuliani was the wrong choice and I bowed my head in anguish as I saw him speaking with hair dye streaming down his face and covered my face when he took that computer ‘expert’ in front of a legislature where she promptly started to talk crazy, I saw people say the 14th of Dec was ‘the important day’ and when that came and went they said the 23rd was ‘the important day’ and when that came and went now it’s the 6th of January, which will also come and go, I’ve seen people claim there are alternate electors when there are none, and in this very thread I’ve seen people claiming signing the Bill was a ‘win’ when it was actually capitulation - I’m tired.
Let me suspend disbelief and join those who believe Powell and Lin Wood will pull some miracle, or that something special will come out of the 6th of January (outside the reading of votes). I’m part of the hope brigade now, and if a miracle happens that’s great. If it doesn’t, at least I remain hopeful until sometime on the 20th of January.
I’ve seen turkeys do the same. Keep eating even on Thanksgiving morning. Why stress over that which you cannot change.

You’ve got it backwards. Lin Wood wasn’t in House leadership with Boehner, Cantor and Ryan. Ask yourself why Boehner and Ryan liked Pence so much. Pence is a classic GOPe controlled opposition fake conservative.
Another Freeper posted a long list of the things Pence has played for Team GOPe on the other day. His term as governor was particularly ugly. Then once VP he was of course central to the Flynn nonsense and was totally AWOL during impeachment. Bare Minimum Mike has done the absolute minimum in support of POTUS and MAGA. I expect he will run in 2024 as a block against a third party run by a legitimate MAGA candidate.

We have to wait and see exactly what is blocked.
My guess, the COVID payments to We the People will flow.
Porkulus to Foreign countries is blocked.
Monies to keep the Government funded past midnight Dec 28, well we have a shutdown and the Government minions are treated like everyone else, cept they may get back pay down the road.
After January 6 (??) we have a brand new Congress and all bills from the current congress die (???).

Part of their plan could have been to set up a government funding crisis to ram down some corrupt porkulus. It worked so well before!
Now, everyone is out of time and a veto stops both the porkulus and the necessary COVID relief.

Democrats still control the House and there is no way they vote in favor of the recessions.
I’m thinking the current bill dies and new Congress writes a new bill.
In the meantime COVID relief flows to we the people and Nancy is holding a vote to bump the payment from $600 to $2000.
And with people like Romney and others in the Senate, there might not be enough votes in the Senate either.
Yes, Deep State Toomey states the Senate will not go for $2,000 for We the People.
And, both houses have lost their leverage and cover provided by the must spend COVID relief and the clock. The porkulus now stands alone and must be approved on it’s own porkulus merits. Fake news can no longer report the bill helps We the People.

Yes a veto was not a winning play and there were reports a veto override was expected.
Some on the President’s legal team came up with the 1974 Act as a winning play because it’s end of year and unused funds expire.
