I thought about re-titling this as:

"The Courage of Mitch McConnell"

Election fraud is real... but they've agreed to ignore it because "the system" depends upon it. Things are in fact MUCH WORSE than Snowden ever realized.

Things the government denies that it does might be done by corporations instead. Google, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, and others, ALSO engage in mass surveillance, and they abuse the information they collect.

Your rights ARE being violated.

And, now, they seek to make sure that doesn't change.

The "Deep State" hacked the election to prevent change.

There will still be people here condemning him as a traitor even though the government they think they are defending has turned on the citizens.

Thanks for posting this. It is very important that people watch this and digest what it means.

The post 9/11 world caused a fundamental shift in our government towards a surveillance state. We were promised this would never be abused or used for political or partisan purposes. How did that work out?

Snowden has done about 9 hours total on three or four Joe Rogan interviews.I have watched/listened to all of them multiple times , I do not see him as a traitor . He had the option to just sit back and watch our republic burn yet he chose to ostracize himself for our benefit (IMHO.)

“There is a two tiered system that operates in America today”

He is very right about this.

Yep. He sacrificed a lot, real sacrifice, for what he did.

I used to think he was a “traitor” because he should have gone through proper channels to blow the whistle on this crap.

I became convinced after watching the treatment of the previous whistleblowers and witnessing the two-tiered justice system where the government elites are invulnerable to accountability that Snowden was right.

Snowden did not reveal what Manning did that got our spies killed. Manning was pardoned out of political correctness. Snowden revealed the big picture of the surveillance state that exists in violation of our constitution. Absolute power corrupts.

Trump should pardon him.

If you read his book, Permanent Record, it is evident that politically he is aligned with Obama. He comes off like a left wing wacko.

In one chapter, he reveals some 'big secrets' like - 'Is global warming/climate change real? Yes.' Wow, thanks fast Eddie.

This doesn't detract he actions against Deep State spying.

Interview by well known libertarian, sympathetic to liberal causes, interviews a Chinese spy masquerading as a MSN darling and a hero by too many people willing to believe the MSN about this traitorous clown, but not about DJT.

He is in the same traitorous class as Ethel & Julius Rosenberg, Aldrich Ames and Robert Hansen. He needs a squad of 12 or be drawn & quartered. His real perfidy was hidden by the MSN, which only revealed what had been public knowledge for about 20 years, and available in most public libraries. The Chinese, the Russians, Iran, AQ and ISIS laugh at the stupidity of Americans willing to destroy their country and give them the US spies in their countries to be rounded up, tortured and shot.

Yes many will condemn him because of endangering the lives of servicemen. I get that but I also see what he has exposed about what has become a tyranny of oligarchs (our national government) and in the broad view of things, hanging in the balance, that knowledge is priceless today in a drugged up sleeping society that desperately needs to wake up.

The real fault for endangering and killing our servicemen comes from the likes of the Bush family, the cretin Cheney, the criminal Clintons, the abomination Obama....their staffs, and most importantly the moneyed interests behind these perverted politicians that promoted endless war. Those are the people responsible for death of thousands of patriotic servicemen with their lies and evil schemes.

Agree that Snowden, very much like Glenn Greenwald, opposes easily judged and obvious error in overt acts, without that specific awareness leading to any understanding that has them philosophically opposed to the left’s agenda.

There are other concerns with Snowden’s role that this presentation doesn’t highlight. He worked for the CIA... and ended up in a role that him working near enough to the heart of the NSA’s crown jewels that he was able to harm the NSA in its competition with the CIA... which the NSA had been winning, before Snowden.

Snowden laughs while pointing out he’s not opposed to surveillance... just not supportive of THIS ?

Ignoring that the CIA and NSA are competitors... with each posing similarly as “above the law” in what they do... would be failing to fully understand what’s going on here.

You can easily enough understand Snowden as a CIA plant who worked to take the NSA down a peg... and succeeded... while still fully supporting the left, its agenda, and its interests, including the Brennan agenda.

Snowden seems careful to avoid the subject of Deep State interference in politics, the CIA-FBI cooperative effort in spying on the Trump campaign ? To make that work... they still had to lie to a judge to get the NSA’s cooperation ?

I do accept the legitimacy of the principled arguments of those on the left, like Alan Dershowitz... within limits.

It is still, always, a cause for concern that, in spite of the specific principled argument, you will see those making the argument still supporting the likes of Hillary Clinton ?

Even when lesser evil arguments don’t work in that context ?

So, I’ll accept what’s “obviously right” in Snowden’s argument in the specific instance... without extending the acceptance a whit farther.

The round up of spies wasn’t a product of the Snowden technical reveal or the penetration by Assange... but a direct function of Hillary’s selling them out... which we’re (wrongly IMO) led to believe must have occurred as a function of exposures through her (deliberately) insecure e-mail comms.

Why has no one ever addressed the ORIGINS of the TS-SCI found in the e-mail flow on Hillary’s servers ?

Snowden, in fact, in his public interactions, was deliberately and inordinately responsible. Far more so than the overt opposite apparent in the Clinton train wreck...

Snowden DID in fact try to address the problems from within the system, first... and found the system broken. The changes enacted in the wake of his revelations say far more about the value of his efforts, at the time, than the words of his critics, after the fact.

But, as in all things spooky, nothing is ever that linear. There are always competing interests, and overlapping agenda that you would be wrong to ignore...

The Trump spying... proves the “corrections” made in the wake of Snowden... didn’t fix the problem. Because... the problem is the rapid left wingers cannot be trusted... and will ALWAYS cheat if given the opportunity.

For those on the right... that message includes the necessary awareness that you should not seek to create powers you expect the left will be empowered to use against you... because they WILL use that power, whether using it is legal or not.

For those of us who have listened to or watched this interview the difference between the government surveillance and corporate surveillance is the fact corporations can only gather the info but the government can not only gather the surveillance info but also charge you with a crime.

If you know the Snowden story already...

Snowden shifts focus from history to the future at 1:17:00

At 1:34:00 focuses on “politics” as a solution... but still only from an government insiders perspective on the issues...

He does correctly ID the problem... and the solution... which I note is the same as I address in my prior posting:

Change the law to require all information ABOUT you... is YOUR PROPERTY. Your medical records... belong to you. Your account information with others... is yours, not theirs.
