Absurdity of a Chicago criminal case outdoes anything the Onion or Babylon Bee could imagine
American Thinker ^ | December 27, 2020 | Thomas Lifson

I have to ask, “What’s the point of having police and a judiciary?” when I read about this case from Chicago, a city world-renowned for the level of lethal criminality its residents endure

. ..

An accused serial burglar and thief has been sentenced to probation for a burglary in Lincoln Park last year — even though he was already on probation for two burglaries at the time of the alleged break-in.

Jonathan Hernandez, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of theft in exchange for an 18-month probation sentence in the latest case, according to court records. He has been arrested seventeen times in Chicago since March 2014

...

Hernandez was sentenced to probation for committing burglary while out on probation for committing burglary.

If probation didn’t dissuade him from further burglary, how could any judge assume that more probation would keep him from committing future crimes?

It makes no sense.

...

Why would anyone want to live in Chicago under these circumstances?

The Rats and Rinos are hoping you turn your anger on the habitual criminal element rather them.

In current leftist philosophy, stealing from people is an honorable career. A good thief does not get caught, consuming everyone's time to put on the show for the rubes, what with police, court, and all.

The minor inconveniences of probation are to teach this thief to sharpen his game, and not get caught. /S

Reminds me of a coworker years ago who couldn't stay straight. Really a likeable guy and a hard worker, until he had some money in his pocket. Booze and cocaine, mostly.

It was a running joke - day after payday he wouldn't show up, we all knew he was passed out somewhere, probably in jail.

The last time I saw him was at work, he had just been released after another DUI bust. I was surprised they let him out this time. Caught driving impaired with no license (suspended), no insurance, failed sobriety test, etc. The cops kept him overnight then let him out the next morning, as usual. The boss fired him this time, said he was killing himself and he didn't want to see it.

He's dead now, of course - liver failure. And thank God he never killed anyone that I know of.

Leftist city and state governments have broken the social contract in pursuit of political power. Right now they are patting themselves on the back for their own cleverness - but the long run, they will bitterly regret it.

None of this is insane.

All is designed to take down the country.

Chaos and death.

It will take a few of these cities descending into total chaos and anarchy before leftists see the absurdity and stupidity of the defund and decriminalize movement.

The local NBC affiliate here in Raleigh, NC, used to have a mugshot section on their website. They took it down last spring because there were too many, well, you know.

“Lawlessness is part of the plan in continues the chaos in the streets”

It will be used to justify disarming the people.

Marxist stated:

“What is bank robber in comparison to the banker?”

“The poor criminals are just trying to make living, being oppressed by the society. “

“In Marxist society, there will be no crime! “

so the Chicago is on the way to Marxism. Bankers in jail, robbers free.

Well, yes and no. No one is old enough to remember the last time there was a free and fair election in Chicago. The Dem machine rigs every election:

My opinion is that only armed intervention by the Feds filing a massive RICO lawsuit against Chicago, Cook County and the state of Illinois could clean this up.
