CHICAGO (WLS) -- New statewide COVID-19 mitigation starts Friday, and will shutter indoor dining in restaurants, cut capacity in retail stores, and shut down indoor recreational activities including bowling. Owners tell ABC 7 they don't know how long they'll be able to survive.

The local PD has been making the rounds to local establishments that aren’t chains. Not to enforce anything, but to eat and drink at the end of their shifts.
They come in, eat, have a couple of beverages, refuse any offered discounts, tip well, and leave. Our local cops are a pretty good bunch.

I lived just 1.4 miles soutj of that location. There used to be an Osco next door ... long closed down. We also frequented the Nutrition Works store across the street, and on our last visit to Rockford, stayed at the Alpine Inn one block away from the shooting site.
Rockford was already in decline when we left in 2013. I am sad by what it has become since. That section of State Street is in decline, but was not supposed to be the “bad” part State, which is west of the downtown area.
