@RepThomasMassie
NDAA Veto override will likely happen on Dec. 28th with 50+ Democrats voting by proxy (from home).
If constitutionality of proxy voting is going to be challenged, this could be the vote to do it on. Members could deprive Pelosi of a physical quorum by refusing to vote that day.

Shameful. They are changing the name of Benning and Bragg, and probably other bases like Fort Hood. They are demanding that troops remain in Afghanistan, Syria, South Korea, etc and forbidding the President from removing them. They limit the President’s ability to divert funds for a border wall in an emergency. God only knows what other giveaways and love letters to the CIA is in there also.
They are a bunch of political whores, voting for whatever the defense industry lobbyists tells them to.
That is a pretty good summary and why Rand will try and do everything he can to stop it or slow it down in the Senate.
Trump wanted troops home for Xmas/New Year and the Dems + Cheney (!) combined to stop it from happening. Disgusting.
Further info on whether they will have a quorum:
Replying to @RepThomasMassie
Good evening Congressman, would you mind a quick explanation to the issues with proxy voting? This is new to me and surely many others.
@RepThomasMassie
The Constitution says each house shall make its own rules, and there’s nothing to explicitly prohibit proxy voting, but the Constitution also requires a quorum to conduct official business. The question is then whether proxy votes count toward the quorum requirement.
What will they rename them? Fort Mediocre? Joint Base Generic?
If there are payoffs in this bill, I wonder if everyone who votes for it can be charged with treason.
What ever the hell the sign may say it will always be Ft Bragg to me. I spent 13 years there over my 30 year career. The memories are too powerful to dismiss based on a bunch of communist democrats trying to erase history.
Go for the proxy vote as unconstitutional. It is. It collapses the whole idea of representation.
What they really want is to eliminate the Constitutionally relegated authority of the Executive Branch over the DOD.
Meaning Congress really wants to control of the military.
The Legislative and Judicial Branches are absolutely trashing the US Constitution.
Our Liberty, our Republic, and our Constitution (the supreme law of the land), cannot be restored without bloodshed at this point.
Yes. Massie should challenge it. I hope so..
That costs tens of billions per year -- and we've been in those places between 20 and 70 years!
But give (some) Americans an extra $1,400? "NO WAY...WE CAN'T AFFORD IT...THE DEFICIT!!!"
I am that way with Hood.
Remember every Dem is just a lockstep proxy for Pelosi who could also just "deem" it passed.
No reason they can’t go to DC.
Must be physically present.... no proxy
Well, ‘they’ haven’t paid ‘US’ back for 2 carriers named for Ford & Bush so I can imagine a whole lot of Schiff named for BO, and his motley crew, a few forts and ships for the Bidens....and other traitors.
Libs are anti troop - pro Defense Contractors guess their ultimate goal is Private troops to fight their wars...
Kind of how the Roman Empire began its downfall...the citizens were ‘too good’ to pick up their own trash and fight their own wars...
Paybacks are hell
Mt Vernon and Monticello are next. Patton and Chesty Puller are rolling over in their graves knowing what the Bolshevik bastards are doing to the memory of their grandfather’s service. Both had grandfathers killed in the war.
Crazy theory, what if Trump is already under house arrest and all the efforts here are just CIA/FBI smoke screens?
Its paranoia I know, but with the way things are I donno.
Based on current trends they will probably call them ‘Fort Fort’ and ‘Base Base.’
What will they rename Brag Blvd? Got it ‘Blvd Blvd.’
Naming major fleet units after politicians was a horrible mistake, and now there’s a price to be paid.
Next three aircraft carriers: USS Clinton, USS Obama, USS Pelosi.
