Biden Reaffirms Free Community College, Conditionally Free Public Higher Education

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden reaffirmed that some higher education will be free if he becomes the president.

“In the 21st century, twelve years of school isn’t enough. That’s why under the Biden-Harris plan, community college will be free—and public colleges and universities will be tuition-free for families earning less than $125,000 a year,” he wrote Thursday in a Twitter post.

In a string of Twitter posts, the former vice president promoted Miguel Cardona, his education secretary pick, addressed reopening schools safely amid the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.

He also mentioned doubling the number of school psychologists, counselors, nurses, and social workers to address the students’ mental health and behavioral needs.

Biden’s plan of free college was adopted from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a prominent socialist and advocate for free college. The proposal, which would require action by Congress, calls on the federal government to partner with states to split the cost.

Wonder if textbooks and other supplies will be free as well.

I am pretty sure they are. They could be rented for free and returned after class are done.

It’s 13 years, not 12, and it would be plenty of time if they would stop wasting time teaching things like Shakespeare, Dickens, PE class, art class, and focus more on vocations so kids can have a good career path right out of high school.

Gee, Joe, Hunter’s gonna pay for me to go back to school and finish my degree with all those ill-gotten millions he’s sitting on? That’s mighty white of him. [/SARC]

You think college is expensive now?

Just wait until it is ‘free’.

And once again, the taxpayers will be the ones who are robbed to pay for it.

But I’m happy that this childlike (dementia-like?) nonsense idea will bring the whole corrupt system closer to collapse. Because it will and I’m looking forward to seeing what replaces the current “higher ed” system.

No such thing as free - it’s just a euphemism for saying “We will stick productive taxpaying people with the bill”.

Yay! Free housing! Free food! Free edumakashun!

Will we all be getting $2,000 a month too?

A girl I knew was riding on a bus about 12 years ago. A “teen” told her he’d be making $25 an hour under Obama.

So, vote Obama, of course.

Democrats wouldn’t care if he was old enough to vote. Or even alive.

Lets be honest, if they’d allow ‘test-out’, around 25-percent of kids would be capable of passing out of the 10th grade with a certificate, and go straight to CC. You could cut a number of teachers out and give the kid 2 years of free CC then. After the 11th grade, probably another 25-percent could test-out and you could cut more teachers.

This idea that 12 years of high school is enough....is just a fantasy.

Many people will complete whatever minimum requirements to get the things that they want, but few people are self-motivated to willingly learn throughout their lives. In other words, most of the employees of government and global corporations will continue to be stupid and ignorant.

I guess I just think that after 13 years and $170,000 spent to educate each student they should have a bit more options than working fast food or low-end retail.

much is made of the left’s march through the institutions, but rarely do people state the obvious CCP influence from the influx of Chinese students and the billions of $$$ they bring to the universities/colleges. those billions come at a great cost.

the students wouldn’t be coming if CCP policies were being criticised, or even if western civilization was being praised as a preferred system:

9 Dec: Aljazeera: Pompeo urges US universities to scrutinise Chinese students
US secretary of state renews calls for US universities to close Beijing-funded Confucius Institutes on campuses.
“If we don’t educate ourselves, if we’re not honest about what’s taking place, we’ll get schooled by Beijing,” Pompeo said in a speech at the university Georgia Tech on Wednesday...
“The Chinese Communist Party knows it can never match our innovation,” Pompeo said. “That’s why it sends 400,000 students a year to the United States of America.”

He renewed calls for US universities to close all Confucius Institutes, the Beijing-funded institutions that offer Chinese-language instruction but are careful to toe to Beijing’s line on politically sensitive topics.
“We need administrators to close Confucius Institutes and investigate what so-called ‘student groups’ backed by the CCP money are actually up to on their campuses,” Pompeo said...

In his remarks on Wednesday, Pompeo criticised several universities by name including the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Pompeo said he had hoped to deliver his remarks there but was told by its president, Rafael Reif, that his comments “might insult their ethnic Chinese students and professors”.
MIT denied his account, saying it was contacted in August about being the venue for the speech by Pompeo and was “honoured to be considered”...
