There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves, or lose our ventures.
—Shakespeare, Julius Caesar, Act 4, Scene 3
The new SCOTUS justices have to be aware that our United States Constitution is under attack, not just from anarchists, but also from numerous politicians and the media. Freedom of speech, the right to own a weapon, and property rights are all being attacked, and to a fundamental degree, our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is being increasingly denied. There has been extreme violence in several of our major cities, which does not meet even token resistance from their governors and mayors. Lives have already been lost. In addition, the rioting has destroyed numerous businesses, thereby destroying property and denying liberty and pursuit of happiness for those business-owners.
There is a report that the chief justice, John Roberts, is afraid of inciting riots and said he would tell the other justices how to vote. Considering John Roberts's actions in the past that appeared to be politically motivated, he may well be concerned that a SCOTUS ruling could incite violence. His determination to uphold the Constitution seems to be weak at best. However, the older conservative justices, Alito and Thomas, proved that they were willing to hear cases about the fraudulent election when they dissented in the Texas v. Pennsylvania, et al. case. So why wouldn't the new SCOTUS justices follow the lead of Alito and Thomas, especially when the issue of free and fair elections is so vital to our Constitution?

They are Bush loyalists who do as they are told. Kav, ACD, Roberts... All from the Bush v Gore team of 2000.
I agree. These Ivy League lawyers/justices need to go back to vocabulary school and look up the word “duty”. As they look at that definition they should look at photos of the cemeteries around Normandy. If they got threatened “tough shit”...............do your damn “duty” like the men buried at Normandy and in Arlington and in thousands of lonely, unmarked graves around the world have done!

Our republic’s founders set up several levels of safeguards, or what they thought might be safeguards, to protect against the stealing of a presidential election.
- Elections run by the several sovereign states (spreading out the risk of a single person party or group being able to rig an election),
- electoral college, state legislatures vested with power to select the electors in event of election fraud, congress with substantial say- so in disputed election situations,
- and yes the courts ( at least since they seized the power over the elected branches of government).
So far, however, none of the protections, safeguards seem to be working. Our elections are now rigged like those in Banana Republics, idle mic and communist countries, and the old Soviet Union.
As Benjamin Franklin said, our founders gave us a republic so long as we can keep it.
And as Stalin said, voters don’t decide elections, the vote-counters do.
1.) Currently the Progressives more closely resemble the old Communist hierarchy than a traditional American political establishment. Nearly all the decisions are made at the federal level, then passed down to the agents at the state and local levels. As such, there's no one on the Democrat side looking out for the welfare of their constituents...it's all about what's best for the Party.
2.) See 1.
3.) Antonin Scalia tried pushing back against the Left, particularly the Obama regime. Look what happened to him. The message was clear. Since the Progressives control all levels of the Federal Government bureacracy, especially law enforcement, justices better fall in line.
Otherwise...
There is no “thinking”, only cowardice.
No, this is much less elegant - it's thuggery, intimidation, bullying. It's choosing between what's constitutional and what's convenient. Principle vs. personal gain/safety. To avoid seeing a riot on the seven o'clock news, Roberts will give away the country forever.
This is what I have now come to expect from the Judiciary - expedience. Rather than test the case against the constitution, they will twist the constitution around to align with the desired result.
That's how the death of an unborn baby isn't murder, it's a privacy issue.
It's how Obamacare isn't forcing you to buy something you don't want, it's a TAX.
Now it's about how you can disenfranchise 79 million legal voters to protect the rights of some fictitious illegal voters.
You don't get robbed by "the tide". You don't get violated by "the tide". The tide just IS.
they are thinking survive...
SCOTUS `conservatives’ already assume that BLM/Antifa knows their home addresses.
But as for riots, it will require only one determined mayor backed by his/her Governor to order his police to open fire on a BLM/Antifa violent mob. Make a lot of these feral savages dead, and the others will retreat.
They do ONE thing only...they cash their paychecks
Socialized health care came 1st so they knew who you are and where you lived. Then came gun confiscation. And the rest is bloody history.
Terrorists, like bullies, only understand/respond to one thing - force.
Sternly worded speeches and letters do absolutely nothing.
You can't "tell" people. They have to see it for themselves.
They had to see all the damage that the communist Democrats will inflict on society, when they themselves created the crises, then formulate the "solutions".
They had to see our civil systems failing, one after another, in this stolen election. The local political thieves, state legislatures, state courts, federal courts, appeals courts, the Supreme Court, the US Congress and Senate, the various civilian federal agencies.
Trump has taken us through all these civil processes, and we have watched, the whole world has watched, as one after another, our civil systems have failed to save our human civilization.
After a few more civil steps, within the next three or four weeks, then the military system will be employed in the effort to save human civilization. This might be frightening to some, but order could be restored; civilization might be saved, and with minimal loss of life.
If that fails, then the final option will be that the task falls to "We The People" to save human civilization.
This final option would be horrific, the most devastating uncivil war the world has ever seen or imagined. The lesson would not need to be repeated for a very long time, perhaps a thousand years.
The communist Democrats had better hope that the military solution is sufficient.
Roberts is not thinking about the country at all. This has always been about saving his own hide.
“The threat of violence is always present in our country.”
Not always. It certainly is credible from the Left, which is why they spent the past year burning and ‘occupying’ our cities, and they showed that our ‘justice system’ was unable to deal with them in any way (at least in some cases).
But our side, we’re just talk. We ‘talk’ about suiting up, putting that AR on our shoulder and marching in to take our country back. Ok, where have we done anything close to that? OK City, maybe Nashville? Oh really.
Anyway, it was an easy call for the kids on the Court, didn’t see a downside in ruling against us - after all when have we EVER seriously pushed back against their crap?
...too bad they’ll have to learn that everyone, and I mean everyone, has a breaking point.
The SCOTUS justices do not live their lives in a bubble. They are out in public the same as the rest of us. They have family members, friends, and relatives just like the rest of us. The truth will eventually come out as to why they tossed the rule of law aside. If they all took their cue from Roberts then we know several things. They are not all equal and that justice is not blind. And that the Constitution can come in second place in some of their decisions.
As long as quotes are in vogue-
“He who can destroy a thing controls it.”
Baron Vladimir Harkonnen
Worked for him until he ended up in the belly of a giant worm.
It works to threaten war but you eat the greenie if you go through with the threat.
Have they done so?
That is the question.
SCOTS is no longer relevant.
Recall the oath they took about defending the Constitution and that foreign and domestic. Well they showed their cowardice and are liars. It would be nice to know who recommended these bastards to the court.
Roberts is literally in favor of mob rule. He doesn’t belong on a municipal court let alone SCOTUS.
Me as well.
