Why do we still have Short Barreled Rifles (SBR) as an NFA weapon at all anymore? The whole logic of making these weapons illegal without being licensed is spurious because 1. Having a shorter barrel only marginally makes a weapon more concealable and 2. The reduced barrel length increases noise and flash and reduces velocity and energy and accuracy in all rifles.

It's not like Bonnie and Clyde are using them to rob banks anymore..

I predict the bill will be called The New National Firearms Act and will require tax and registration of all semi-automatic firearms of any kind, rifle, pistol, or shotgun.

A lot of folks seem to be counting their chickens before they hatch on this “victory.” If the Georgia elections are lost, welcome to national socialism.

Wonder how they would go about confiscating them? Every credit card purchase record is available for how long? Mastercard/Visa will roll over and spread their legs for the ATF.

I did a custom build of a 10.5" 300BLK with a proper Form 1 tax stamp for the lower that mounts it. 300BLK is finished burning powder at 9 inches. A 10.5" allows for a suppressor later. I have full length 300BLK uppers.

I have some proper pistol lowers with no braces to match uppers in the 7.5" to 10.5" range. They don't get used often. It's not really a great arrangement.

“It’s not like Bonnie and Clyde are using them to rob banks anymore..”

Other than the full auto thing I’m pretty sure Clydes gun would still be legal today. However, hacking the barrel off a perfectly good BAR is sacrilege in my mind.

When I have Stupid Money I shall own a Belgian BAR IN 7.62 NATO.

It’s insane. They are only effective at keeping law abiding gun owners honest and screwing them out of $200. Beyond that, no real criminal gives a crap about any of it.

Not familiar with that model. Know there have been some special category shotguns made recently where you cannot modify them (Mossberg and Remington models with birds head grip and short barrels). It’s really something one has to research thoroughly to be sure you are legally in the clear.

Merry Christmas - I was surprised that the grammar cops didn’t catch my “riffle” in place of “rifle”.

The only thing “temporary” with current government is the promise/intent to keep a special tax or other lien on FReedom “temporary” - they wait a short while then declare it permanent - until the price goes up....

Was this some of the bagpiper’s work one last time. Was this the reason for his (firing) departure.

Sure, because President Trump was such a stalwart on the Second Amendment.

Why do we still have Short Barreled Rifles (SBR) as an NFA weapon at all anymore?

Because during those two years after Trump was inaugurated when the GOP controlled everything and had a blank check to repeal a myriad of gun laws as a gesture of gratitude towards gun rights proponents for their loyal and unwavering support towards the Republican Party, they instead did not a damned thing.

Well, we did eventually get a bumpstock ban.

These cowards couldn't even sneak a reciprocity bill into that 5600 pages of trillion dollar garbage they're about to pass.

Agreed

An agency whose primary purpose is to violate the Constitution, hard and repeatedly, without the courtesy of a reach-around.

Good thing it’s just “parts” and if I pay cash and don’t tell anyone and don’t keep it at home...

Or, being me, I don’t want or have one, but just want YOU to be able to if YOU want...

...I got no problems.
