Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced early Tuesday morning that the Senate will return to Washington on Dec. 29 to respond to a potential veto from President Trump of a mammoth defense bill.
McConnell, speaking from the Senate floor, said that he had struck a deal with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) for the chamber to return for a rare post-Christmas session during which he said they will "process" a veto override, if it's passed by the House.

It’s ironic. The GOP has survived on affirmative action for decades. People don’t vote for them for what they do, which isn’t much*, they vote for them because they aren’t democrats and that’s it. That’s where the bar is set for them by their supporters, who at this point are gullible saps.

There is no pocket veto if the senate doesn’t adjourn. They are using daily Pro Forma gaveling into and out of session to prevent a recess on the 10th day to prevent the pocket veto of both defense and Covid bills.
