(CNN)As many people face the prospect of being alone for the holidays, new science is showing how loneliness might actually help build structures in the brain tied to imagination.

Lonely people were more likely to have increased activity in areas of the brain tied to reminiscing, thinking about others and future planning, according to a study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications.

It still doesn’t make up for the loss of socializing with others, companionship, etc. Especially during winter.

There are thousands of songs about being lonely at Christmas time. Alcoholism, drug abuse, and suicide and be a result.

I’d just loooove to see the methodology and tests that actually show more nerve paths in the brain as a result of loneliness.

Can you say, “Fake Science?”. I knew you could. These people just make stuff up. “Brain chemical imbalance” anyone? All pseudoscientific horsepucky.

Human rights advocates all campaign against solitary confinement.

Not a damn one of them speak out against these lockdowns on non-criminal citizens.

This makes NO SENSE!

If you had seen those many cheese balls spilled in the roadway - YOU WOULD KNOW!

I guess you didn’t. So - did you see those sheep and elephants? They were amazing!

Some of the most creative artists in world history were that way. Might explain why so many offed themselves but perhaps no more than any other group.

I’m not alone, as in part, I have a cat that talks to me. He swears some and can be insulting - calling me a “stupid human” and the like.

He never talks when other people are around.

He gets pretty mouthy when he hears Joe Biden’s voice.

So if people don’t commit suicide due to depression from loneliness they may have a possible imagination help. Not worth being locked down.

“I’d just loooove to see the methodology and tests that actually show more nerve paths in the brain as a result of loneliness.”

An article I read recently claimed that there is an “epidemic” of studies that cannot be replicated.

Every person I knew in high school who was going to major in psychological sciences in college was a nutjob who was doing it to figure out what their issues were.

My cat mentioned this and explained it was a reason he dropped out of college.
