President-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday said he would slowly reform US immigration policies to avoid triggering a rush of “2 million people on our border.”
Biden confirmed reports that his team is nervous amid an already increasing number of immigrants, including children and families, being detained at the border since his election victory last month.
“I’ve already started discussing these issues with the president of Mexico and our friends in Latin America and the timeline is to do it so that we in fact make it better, not worse,” Biden said at a press conference in Wilmington, Del, when asked about the rollout of his new immigration policies.

Teenager summer jobs? Don’t know any teenager working as farm labor, in a meat-packing plant or as a landscaper. Maybe construction if they were into building trades (most were not). So fast-food... Teenagers, even in the 1980s worked in malls, the local amusement park (for us, it was Marriott’s Great America).
Again, Mexican illegals are not the job killers, it’s Indians, mostly, and Communist Chinese, which destroyed the American middle class.
2 million on Day 1 or 2 million over one year or two years — really doesn’t make much difference. He will let another 10-20 million cross the border either way. It’s a cornerstone of the plan to never lose another election.

You know more then I do about Kids/teens/young adults these days. I think most would like a construction/trade job.
Looking back, if you were not a real brain before college what would be wrong with learning plumbing? Darn good money.

The problem is passing drug testing for getting/keeping a commercial driver license.

I can think of a lot of ways to get most to leave: (1) Implement eVerify for all current and future workers (temp/perm & part/full), (2) Rescind all work permits for illegals (e.g., from catch-and-release). Starved from work, most will leave. Then we get down to the harder ones. Maybe a bounty on each, put Americans everywhere out to help round them up—a shovel ready public project!

Not wrong. But for many, the thought of physical labor even in high school was abhorrent. It was thought that the worthless jocks, bullies, stoners and scumbags would do those jobs, so us 98 lb weaklings got good at computers or other college-type jobs
Hell, we even sucked at industrial arts in high school and hated those classes with a passion (for us, it was woodworking and metalworking). We hated home ec as much. Those students took building trades, welding and other vocational subjects while we took physics, calculus and chemistry.
So those who spent 37 years past high school in computers are pretty much effed, as our skills are now mere commodities more suited for foreign trash.

Yeah weed kills (any chance at a CDL job).
I was on medical marijuana while my skin cancer on my face/ nose was being treated back in March. Stopped the medical marijuana when the cancer treatments stopped when I ran out of insurance after being furloughed. Cancer has returned now, since stopping treatment.
The medical edibles really helped with the pain, however, THC takes 6 months to clear from the body in a soon mandatory hair follicle test. When I took my CDL class A license in June/ July my piss test was clean with even with the most sensitive DOT test. Couldn’t take the hair follicle test as I normally shave my head every 3 months. (Needs 4 month growth at minimum, 1 1/2” to 2” of hair on the back of the head).
Not a problem!
