Democrats Tried to 'QB Sneak' a Waiver for Biden's Defense Secretary Pick into Spending Bill

You can’t trust them. You can't trust the Democrats. We all know this. If you give them an inch, they take a mile. We've all seen this movie. So, as the government was on the verge of a shutdown, they tried to get a little sneaky regarding Joe Biden's secretary of defense pick. They tried to sneak a waiver into the spending bill, whose text has, as of this post being written at 12:07 PM, not been released. It's a $900 billion-dollar spending bill that saw both sides duking it out over minutiae that should infuriate the American people. The haggling over what are rounding errors in federal budgeting was insane. At the same time, now that the 2020 election is over, Nancy Pelosi—who admitted she torpedoed COVID relief payments for political reasons—now wants to give families who suffered economic devastation for months some money. Too late, lady. Democrats enjoyed screwing over millions of people to better their chances of winning a national election. And there will be no accountability, the large shade cast by the liberal news media offers plenty of protection. Yet, this bill is huge, with many cracks and crevices to hide things—like a waiver for retired Gen. Lloyd Austin, Biden's pick to run the Pentagon (via Axios):

Probably still in there. If you take the fifth letter down from each paragraph from every other page and combine them you end up with the AA candidate being confirmed. Or something. At this point I'm hoping PDJT will say "Nah! Not signing with all this garbage in here."

Spending bill and stimulus bill need to get the big “V” by PDJT. Then again, when you’re $30 trillion in the hole, who cares. It will NEVER be paid back.

Wasn’t the guy Biden has named a former 4-star General and head of Centcom when he retired.....

There must be some type of skeleton in his closet that we don’t know about...

He should not sign. But getting the message out to Americans that the bill gave more money to other countries, illegals, pork and nonsense will not be easy since the “news” media is nothing but statist propaganda.

Incorrigible kleptomaniac, amoral, vicious liars. Why would any self-respecting human being vote for a Rat????? Their anti-American treachery has been oh full display this year.

The waiver is likely just a pointless formality. There is a federal law that prohibits former military personnel to be retired for at least seven years before they can serve as Secretary of Defense. This law has never been challenged but is almost certainly unconstitutional because the president’s power to appoint cabinet members is subject only to Senate confirmation.

Sorry — REQUIRES former military personnel to be retired for at least seven years.

I heard about him before I saw and knew there was something up. He’s one of many double dippers who retires from the officer corps and instantly gets ‘acquired’ by major defense contractors and then jumps from one to the other after being vested. Very lucrative. But, not that an individual would try to steer contracts to former employers or anything once in a position to do that. Good work if you can get it.

That he jumped from Active Duty to the Board of some Defense Contractor, in this case Raytheon, is not unheard of and probably wouldn’t disqualify anyone....

I know he’s black and would be the first black American to be Defense Secretary...

On paper he certainly looks to be qualified but the fact the Democrats tried to sneak him in raises red flags to me....maybe I’m just paranoid but I don’t believe in coincidences....

I smell a ‘Rat.
All the sudden Pelosi and McConnell are in a big hurry on this “Relief Bill”. The timing and the haste have alarms going off in my head.
You held it up for the election, why such a rush now, Nancy? If it’s so good for the country, wouldn’t you want your boy Biden’s signature on it, instead of Trump’s?
Maybe they’re angling to override Trump’s veto, as a final insult?
I’m thinking pocket veto is the way to go here. If they force you out, leave it on the desk unsigned.

I heard McConnell was going to call everyone back next Tuesday to ensure this is a veto-proof bill. What choice does POTUS have if it is veto-proof?

I know he was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and Secretary of State, I could be wrong but I don’t remember him ever being Defense Secretary...
